  • Best Psu for my budget.

Got my htpc case sorted now so Psu is next on the list. Internal pc will be made up of a few fans two hard drives an Asus p6t with i7 920 slightly overclocked and a gigabyte 7950
Been looking at the evga 500w is that enough or is 600w the way to go don't want to spend more than 50 on one

    Ones considering
    Evga 500w
    Evga 600w bronze
    Corsair cx600 modular

Both good, paying more for less with the BQ, but at least it's in stock

Has anyone seen anything about the xfx ts gold rated Psu 57 for a 550w and they are gold rated for efficiency

No reviews yet but the oem is Seasonic so it's probably going to be a good one.

Personally i wouldn't use any of the three that you listed. The EVGA ones (oem's are HEC and FSP) recieved mediocre reviews and don't really get good until the G2 range (oem is Superflower). The Corsair CX range are overpriced and are nothing but a budget psu with cheap internals that have been wildly overhyped by Corsair fanboys.

The Bequiet only has 480w on the 12v rails and from the one review that i found for it only scored 8 out of 10. I would only look at ones that scored 9+ for myself, after all, it is the most important component in a pc.

A psu much overlooked is the NZXT range. You can get the NZXT Hale Power 90+ 550W '80 Plus Gold' for just under 50 now and it's a decent unit built by Superflower. It has a single 45A 12v rail giving a max of 540w on that rail. It also has a decent 5 year warranty.

As above, many current XFX use Seasonic as OEM = win.

+1 to this, starting to read posts accross several forums of these blowing up.

I think the higher end Corsair PSU's are fine but they have used their good brand to sell what are emerging to be pretty shoddy PSU's.

                      Actually pretty dissapointed in Corsair.
