  • Corsair HX850 overheat safety?

What happens if a Corsar HX850 overheats?

Does it have some kind of safety shutdown?

Reason for post, I am thinking about taking the fan off, as I believe, my PSU has a faulty thermostat which sometimes kicks my fan up to 100%.

Im am almost 100% its not due to heat.

I really cant be bothered, plus its very intermittent. It'll literally work perfectly fine for months then go through an annoying few weeks of the fan kicking up to 100% fan speed at completely random times for no reason.

Yeah it should shut off they have all kinds of protection built in, although if the temp sensor isnt working it might not so I wouldnt want to risk testing that theory. Surely better just to RMA it?
