Spec me a psu

Over the next week or so, i'll be looking at adding a 2nd GTX 680 to my rig. I'm after suggestions as to what wattage PSU i should be looking at.

I've just automatically assumed im looking at 1000w+ simply for the 4 6 pin connectors. So i've been looking at the 1200w Corsair AX and the 1050w Corsair HX. But would like someone elses opinion before i go spending that much

Hi mate, I'd go for a HX/AX750, that will be more than enough for 2 GTX 680's:

I've got a AX750 and its a awesome PSU, totally silent, great quality (based on Seasonic X series)

I had 2 GTX 670's oc'd and in bf3 I saw the power usage hit 480w max.

As above I've got a Seasonic X-760 and its a great PSU, an AX750 is basically the same thing

allthough a 1000w psu would be the obvious choice a 850w/900w branded psu would be more than enough.. lets remember the latest nvidia cards are the most efficent ever and use significantly less power than previous generations... for example the GTX280 in sli would require 1000w ...
however the GTX680 has a minimum psu requirement of just 550w which is amazing considering its power..... so taking that into consideration i recommend something like the

but the mushkin joule 1000w psu is worth checking out ( http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/...roductId=48434 ) ... retailing at under £90 this is a solid psu... ask anyone about mushkin psu,s and you wont get any negative replys....

What Zaim said, I have an AX750 and also will be running 2 670's, plenty enough power, top notch efficiency, Corsair warranty, option for full modular cables. Swish!

HX850, they have recently upgraded the model. Its modular other then the cables you have to use on pretty much any PC. Its currently on a price drop on the site. 7 year warranty. Its blue, and if you buy one you can be the same as me.
