    PHOTO EDITING BUILD

    Hi

I am new in this forum and dont know how things work exactly,so hopefully this is how it goes.I am a full time photographer, and I am looking for a computer build purely for editing photos. My current set up isnt too bad but at times it does struggle when I try and multitask, and it starts running really loud.I also have a 27" 1920x1080 IPS screen but I cant say I am really happy with it,so I want to upgrade it to 2k or 4k if I can for better colour production. My budget for a PC set up is 400-500 tops ( exluding the screen) I will write down my system specs below,so If I can use any of that,it would be great.Any help is much appreciated, thank you all for your time and help in advance.

    Motherboard: GA-78LMT USB3
    Processor: AMD FX 8350 4000mhz
    Graphics Card: AMD radeon 7850
    Ram: 16gb
    Hardrive: 1 x 250gb SSD 2 x 2TB HDD 2048mb GDDR5
    Operating System: Windows 10
    Power Supply: Corsair Cx 430

Your current graphics card is fine. Unless you want something that uses less power.
Glad to see some sensible advice regarding your monitor, I too will second the advice given for IPS DELL at QHD (2560x1440), and where possible connect via displayport. Some people are still overlooking their video connectivity. I have seen people connecting their PCs to monitors with VGA still and wondering why their screen looks crap.

Your 7850 would do the job fine as you could use the multi threads of the CPU plus the extra RAM would make things easier with RAW images

I dont need HDD,keyboard or screen.I know you are all busy but any reply is appreciated.Alternatively I can create a new post ?

Please, for the love of God, do not try to overclock the 8350 on that motherboard. You'll be frying it in no time at all.

use realtemp, much simpler and just gives core temps. Will help to give you a quick indication if things are getting really hot when you go to export.

it might if you have timing/speeds which both are not able to do. but i thought i read you did a ramtest and they passed?

run them at the speed of the slowest with timings 1 higher than rated. so if the 1333 is cl7 run them at 8 or what ever they are.

hwmon is a great free app for temp monitoring.

    Hi again

It is coolmaster,it was a good deal, good reviews so i just bought it,to be honest didnt really want to spend a lot on it incase it wasnt a psu problem..Having said that I had another crash today trying to export with lightroom,so I am not sure why it was, also Radeon drivers updated again yesterday,so I dont think it is a driver issue.I dont know how to check the temperatures but I will check google and find out. When I was installing the PSU in i realised 2 of my rams are ( 2x4gb) 1600mhz,and 2 of them are 1333mhz,would that cause any trouble?

    What brand is the PSU?

Hopefully it was just a power issue and that's an easy fix

Next thing I would check temperatures though, if the PSU doesn't help - before you buy any more stuff

gpu prices are high right now thanks to the latest mining craze. lightroom can use your gpu to speed things up but for the price you would need to spend to get a noticeable upgrade....an amd 570 or nvidia 1060 would be around where you would want to look but they are not at the best prices right now

have you checked to see if that has anything to do with your crashing?

only if it is using the gpu when it crashes it would make me think it is the power supply more
