That'll work, recommend 1600mhz RAM for the extra few pennies.

Solid build otherwise... Maybe an after-market cooler for quietness / overclocking ?

Stock cooler is "okay" but no good for o/c.

Stock cooler will do for now, trying to keep the short term budget down.

The only weak link seems to be that the GPU is XFX, having never had one before not sure if they're as bad as everyone says.

Imo, XFX had a bad run 18 months or so ago... haven't heard horror stories for quite some time now so I would personally give them a go again
You're still covered by warranty anyway.

The PSUs have always been fine afaik? Not to mention they're basically Seasonic IIRC.

The GPUs on the other hand i'd avoid at all cost.

I've owned 3 XFX GPU's and never had a problem with them to be honest. As Spaceboy said think they had a bit of a horror patch but apart from the odd card nothing majorly wrong recently.

Wasn't it more the warranty not the quality?

Well I know they used to have lifetime warranty and now its 2 years AFAIK, but then a majority of GPU makers are 2 years now so no different.
