  • 1156 bundle

Looking for something that will run as fast as my previous 1156 system (overclocked i3 @ 4GHz).

Motherboard must be mATX and support SATA3.
CPU - don't know much about skt1155 CPU's so only requirement is the speed and integrated GPU/
Memory- i suppose i can still use my DDR3

Mainly HTPC use so probably no need for a quad core.

    Thanks

You will not see any gains going from what you have to a new i3 as they cannot be overclocked. The only benefit is a better onboard GPU but that isn't worth the upgrade in my eyes.

What about SATA3? Are there any 1156 mobos that have SATA3? Don't have any space to add a PCI-x SATA3 card.

What's the main reason for wanting it? For an SSD I'd assume.

            HTPC... with Raid1 SSD's?

As much as that sounds epic... it's pointless. lol.

Why is it pointless? I thought that windows media centre benefits quite a bit

I don't think so, Citro. It's unlikely to require 1GBps for anything. Full HD only uses a fraction of that.
