Hello all,
I'm looking at upgrading my current setup ready for when Cyberpunk 2077 comes out.
I was going to get an RTX 2080 Super, but I'm glad I waited as after seeing the NVIDIA reveal of the RTX 3080 it seems to be ALOT better!
Anyway, here is my current setup:
CPU - Intel i7-6700k @ 4.00ghz (not overclocked)
GPU - Nvidia GeForce GTX 980ti (this baby has lasted me a long time without needing to upgrade)
Motherboard - ASUS Maximus VIII HERO
RAM - 16GB @ 2400mhz
PSU - Corsair 550w (I think it's 550w)
Corsair Liquid Cooled CPU
Samsung EVO SSD - 500GB
Hybrid HDD - 1TB
So the plan is to get the new RTX 3080 when it's released.
I'm rubbish with computer components, knowing what's compatible etc.. so is there anything above that I will need to change?
I'm pretty sure I will need a more powerful PSU to handle the new GPU.
Is the motherboard compatible with the new gen GPU's?
Guessing my i7 will be okay?
Based on feedback from the above I will know whether to upgrade the parts or just get a whole new build.
Thanks
Danny
