  • why my ethernet port stopped working?

this is second mobo this has happened to.

last night for first time in months I switched internet of a mains. WHEN I switched on today and pc it said no internet/no cable connected.. I tested cable in ps4 and it worked fine put back in pc, restart pc but still wont light up and says no cable plugged in. Not sure why its doing this and it happened on my last pc to so I had to revert to wireless usb.

    Any thoughts?

    cheers

Is this wired straight to the router or are you using homeplugs?

        Which ports busting?

I must have used about 5000 different ethernet ports on PCs, laptops, PBXs, IP phones, servers, etc and can count on one hand the number that have stopped working.
Removed my picture as I have now sold it all

I have only ever known one ethernet port go bad and that was as a result of a bad cable that shorted.

            Are you overclocking at all?

Seen ports stop working of the PCI/PCIE clock is pushed to far.
I am not losing weight! I'm getting rid of it. I have no intention of finding it again!

Perhaps check whether your network adapter might have defaulted to something other than the proper one?
