If you can get what you want, fine, but not all good tablets have that. The Nexus, for example.

32GB does fine. If I ever need to move anything on and off I can either cloud it or USB.

I've always lusted after one of those, but it is a bit pricey.

And when you get into that sort of thing you might as well start looking at a Microsoft Surface Windows tablet.

And for <50 you can get a decent Bluetooth keyboard for tablets and phones for times when you want to use them at home/work.

surface is a noisy little beastie of a device, and power hungry, I can have the one I use in the dock and battery doesn't charge if I have brightness on full !!

No real benefit to me getting anything resembling a laptop as I could use my home computer if I really wanted to.

And needs to be Android as opposed to 8.1/10 so I can use the apps that these platforms provide rather than the web based stuff.

The nexus 9 has just dropped to 179 for the 16gb version. Would need to move quick though as doubt they will be around for long at that price.
Where can you get the 16GB version for 179?

Right so my manager is in a good mood today and just said to get on and buy what I need.

Thought I'd decided on the Samsung Galaxy S 8.4" which all the reviews said were 250 for the 32GB version, but they seem to be either out of stock or more now than they were when they were a current model!

Good choice. I fancy one of those.

It may have been a one-day thing, but yesterday Samsung's own site was selling at prices below those I could see elsewhere on line.

They may not still have the deal, but you can see what they are flogging direct.

                  RESULT!

I don't know about that one, but one nice thing about the Nexus 7 is that it fits (just) into a jacket pocket. So you can keep your employer happy by always being on the case and fuelling the social media beast.

On cases, you may want to get something to protect the thing.

Yer just a bit, I think 8 inches seems like the optimum size for me. My phone is 5.5" so 7" seems too small of an increase and 10" is just too impractical for carrying about.

I'll be getting one of those folding flip front cases like this...
