Yeah same as above you'll be lucky to get more than £200 for both your cards and you'd need a 7970 or GTX670 really to match the same FPS.

I would probably hang onto them if they play all your games.

you could just watercool them/put an aftermarket cooler on them, to reduce noise and temps

The extra expenditure would be counter-productive.

SLI 470's should be enough performance for any current game, especially if your gaming at 1080P? Why not try and hold out until GK110 and HD 8XXX, those cards will be much faster and based on more mature process, even if you just held out till next year the current 6XX/HD7XXX series will see big price drops when GK110 and HD 8XXX launches. I guess you need to decide is it really worth the extra money for little overall performance difference?

No watercooling options not for me, my case is too small for that kinda setup.

Ill hold out til i need to, i love the candy in games not just fps And as we said before, your right, the extra money for the little performance just aint worth it.

my 470's go from 8.5k stock ^ to 12.4k overclocked to 920 core

680 trails a little probably be far smoother with single card an more memory etc
680 malowns 470 sli due to that VRAM, and being being super dooper smooth*(*with new drivers and 60HZ+ screens) Skyrim is so much smoother on 680 than even 7970 (something I did test) As AMD drivers at the time were not 100% keen on some of the features in the new skyrim engine but Nvidia were fine (FXAA was one).

So a 670 with a factory OC and nice cooler (so little noise) will rock your world.

Although if you do heavy modding the 4GB 680's are worth a look you can blow 2GB vram!

*Skyrim also loves to be hosted on 500MB-1GB SSD's and SB 4GHZ+ quad or better (shadows are done by the CPU). So a SSD, 2500k and a 670 or better makes skyrim one of the best games ever.

470 is a great card one of the best value cards Nvidia ever made and very reliable (still got one sold the other to a mate and it still works fab' on his 720p TV) niether of mine ever had a issue. but they do chew power on OC stock cooling could have been better and in SLI the VRAM does nerf many games now.

Depending on the size of the case/position of the cards you could get a Arctic Accelero if it fits .

Problem is the longer you leave it the less the 470's are worth (570's going for peanuts really killed their price) So selling them or even giving them to family and friends is pretty much their second hand value now. 670-680 are great but pricey. So you might as well keep going with them a bit longer unless you want to go insane with mods in skyrim.

470's are awesome but I would sell them now while they're still worth a decent amount of cash.

Upwards of £100 on a certain auction site.
