  • My GTX Titan is dying :(

    Hi All,

The GTX Titan I got second hand from someone on here has started to show artifacts and then crash my system when gaming

So I'm looking for a replacement,

    options:

    1080ti
    1080
    1070ti
    1070

I game on a single HD monitor, so not too demanding there, but I will be getting an HTC Vive Pro in the next 12 months.

So 1080ti now and keep it when i go VR, or something lesser and upgrade again when I get the VR system.

also, why are the 1070ti prices same / higher than 1080? I confused!!!

    Thanks as always R.

I'd go 1070ti , for 1080 resolution and VR more than plenty, and then go to an 11 series when prices get reasonable once released.

Some of the premium 1070ti are more expensive than the bottom end 1080, just based off cost prices at the time of buying in.

I'd probably go for the Asus @ 455 or 485

Definitely the GPU and not the power supply? I had a similar issue last year where my screen would stutter, spaz out and then the whole system would crash.

But it turned out to be a dying PSU and nothing to do with the graphics at all.

Well yes. good point... I do have a spare 700W psu that I will be swapping into the system to do some testing, but thought I'd get a situ on the gfrxs cards anyway.

I can't in good conscience buy from Aria anymore, apprently you lose money everytime I buy anything from you so I have made the decision to purchase elsewhere from now on.

Further to the above, It was definately the card. Which I have no replaced.

I was then looking for a recycling scheme for graphics cards, it seems Gigabyte themselves do nothing as I received a very curt reply from them when I emailed to ask if they have a recycling scheme.

Anyone know of anything, or just take to tip and add to the toxic landfill?!?

I guess you could try a local PC shop, as they might have a monthly collection by a proper recycling company for old bits that are dead. Where I work, we schedule about 3 per year and fill up about half a van each time.
