Aye going off AMDs latest releases it might be a flop, which would be a great shame

It's said to keep up with Broadwell-E in video rendering. I'm really looking forward to this chip/platform.

I'm thinking I may upgrade to this when the zen chips are released as I can keep the existing cpu watercooling block. just need them to release a decent graphics card now.

I believe it's always good to have a second player in the game regardless - I'll probably end up with an AM4 rig by the years end...even if the chips are still lagging behind Intels performance you can bet AMD will have a CPU or two that win out in terms of price/performance and appeal to a tightwad (or rampant AMD fanboi) like myself.

Without a doubt. It's going to be an Intel 5960X for less than half its price (apparently...)! I am buzzed to see Zen, but there's still no official release date as there are bugs to be ironed out before they can unleash it to us.

hold out till easter if you can imo

these should of landed by then and intel will of reacted so all higher end cpu should be cheaper.

I'm hoping zen it good but don't see it being as good overall as top Intel stuff. Programs that love core count possibly but can't see it matching IPC of intel

It's too late, and too cheap, for me to hold out the hopes I once had for it.

this build up to zen reminds me most of the conroe launch. nobody made a big deal about it or had high expectations. it changed the landscape for a decade.

time will tell if this is the same

I have just built myself 2 new FX/am3+ boxen in the last 6-8 months and will be doing so with the new chips, because without AMD, intel will go back to a new chip every few years if your lucky and charge the earth for it.

Intel spent more money and man hours clean rooming the Athlon to get the i3/5/7 chip than AMD has spent in the history of the company.

sandybridge was the intel athlon64 rip off, the first get of i series were nothing more than sup'd up pent d

but i doubt you are far off the figures.

now they get to spend the next couple of years figuring out how to copy a better copy of their own stuff xD
