            A quick one is Aida64, but any of these would do.

            Cooler should be more than ample, if fitted correctly.

              pentium D,s were the first dual cores after the pentium 4,s... however the same socket lga775 will probally accomodate a core 2 quad and the Q6600 can be found for around 20 second hand ... that cpu would trounce any pentium D and with 4 cores its performance would be significantly better
              your best option is to locate your motherboard and its appropriate webpage .. then check compatible processors for your board ... you can then plan a upgrade ... that said socket lga775 boards can be found for around 30 ( or less if second hand ) ....

                Early 775 motherboards did not have the vrms to support core2's.
