  • New case advice

I am going to down size my case in the next couple of weeks,

I currently have a Corsai 600T in white which is way too big for my new small desk.

I am after something like the Fractal Design Define R3, but i will look at others.

    Needs to house;
    • ATX mobo
    • HD6870
    • x1 ODD
    • x2 HDD

    Budget of under 100 ONO

One of the main features i would like is it to be quiet, I would also like USB 3.0 if possible but thats not important.

    Thanks
    Dan

    (Also looking to trade - http://forums.aria.co.uk/showthread.php/97041-Case )

Tbh I think the R3 is the case of choice - new version has USB3 too

Mine is practically silent even with 2 roof fans.

It pretty much ticks all my boxes, have you got any good pictures of the case?

I have just bought two cases from Aria...

Fractal Core 3000 for my HTPC....

          http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=45752

which did not matter about any USB 3 ports.

Then for my own PC I chose this one...

          http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=48197

          cooler master 690 II

Both of the cases are very nice and have plenty of room. I like the HD trays on the Fractal case with the rubber grommets but the Cooler master trays are fine for what they need to be.
I liked the two USB 3 ports on the CM case. and the two USB 2 ones. Whilst I do not have a USB 3 board, until the Z77's are out, I appreciate having that potential.
I also like the adapter on the top of the CM case to fit a 3.5" SATA drive directly to it, that will be useful.

The Fractal case has a nice sliding out dust filter underneath the PSU.

But that brings me to the problem that I have with cases with a bottom PSU fitting. The motherboards haven't really changed to accommodate that style, often having their CPU power supply (4 or 8 pin plug) situated right at the very top of the board.

Also how the heck do you manage to cram all the wiring and cables behind the motherboard tray and then put the side on.! Whilst mine are sort of neat I'm sure the side of the case is about to explode under pressure.!

                Nice choice.

Would have suggested this or the CM 690 Adv II
