Android version names

I'm sure every Android user (and maybe others) knows that the general format for Android version names is that they are named after delicious sweet treats and desserts, in alphabetical order.

We've had:

Cupcake
Donut
Eclair
Froyo
Gingerbread
Honeycomb
Ice Cream Sandwich
Jelly Bean

And the next one seems to be widely believed that it will be Key Lime Pie.

So lets look into the future - what do you think future version will be called?

Personally, before Key Lime Pie surfaced, I couldn't think of any dessert which started with the letter K, except Knickerbocker Glory, but it seems I have been proved wrong with that one.

As for L after that, I think it will be Liquorice.

Speculate away. Go as far into the future as you wish. :) What do you think X and Z will be?

Nexus 4S ??

I saw in the keynote speech at google i/o yesterday, mention about Nexus 4S. Does that mean they are doing a nexus (i.e. clean android) version of the samsung galaxy 4S or an upgraded version of the existing LG Nexus 4 ?

Transferring Data to iPhone?

Is there a way to do it without iTunes? I have found a program that can get the information off the iPhone to the PC but I need to do it the other way.

I am not doing it to get Music on there, but mainly so I can put pictures on there without having to Sync.

So had mine for about a week now and I can honestly say its a pleasure to use it.... The only thing I had an issue with was Rooting..... wow this is the hardest phone I have rooted, but I think this is due to O2 requesting HTC to deliver their stock with S-ON...this seemed to stop the phone booting into recovery mode to load the image...... got round it though and all is good.. ( Adverts ...I hate adverts with no option to buy a Pro version)

Anyway the phone itself it solid all the reviews can tell you all about it.... but I will say its weighty but you soon forget about that....

I am not too sure about Icon spacing at the moment ( seems too wide ) and will be looking into seeing if a standard build rom is the same...

The screen is stunning...I mean really really stunning

Blinkfeed is really useful..more so in a wifi area as its slower to update OTA....

The Zoe thing is a little irritating... leave my pics alone until I tell you what to do with them..loll

as for the pics....stunning and the camera is very simple to use.... one handed whilst drunk produces good pics lol....

Still getting used to it but so far first impressions are great

O2 are a joke....

So I contacted O2 about purchasing a new handset.

I am on o2 simpicity 30 days and I've got unlimited data as a bolt on that is no longer available ;)

SO I explained I was after a Dual Core Android phone and that I have seen the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 for �130 at cpw.

All the advisor would say is that their price is �145 and they will not price match...

So give my one good reason why I should stay....

Tumblr app won't load GIF's any more - FIX

Hi all

For those of you that may use the official tumblr app for android, you may have experienced that suddenly no animated gif's will load any more.

I have found a fix.

You need to empty the cache folder for the app.

This is located for me in: /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/andriod/data/com.tumblr/cache

Here you will find all the images the app has stashed away after viewing. (useful if you want to download them but don't want to click each post individually)

Emptying this folder will allow for gif's to animate again.

The folder is accessible though the built in file explorer on my phone or you can just use the mass storage mode and connect to a pc (useful if you are keeping the images)

I couldn't find any where ells with a fix so i though i would post in-case any one has had this problem.

So I tried to update Claire's Galaxy S2...

Two events have conspired against me, and now Claire has lost all her contacts. For some reason, Google has not sync'd her contacts, despite me checking sync was on (1st mistake, should have checked sync was working, not just switched on). When I rooted the phone, I made a backup from inside CWM. I used a 4.2.2 ROM, added the Google account and waited for the sync. All Claire's apps downloading, but no contacts.

Went to restore the back up, but it bricks the phone. If Kies was working as it should, I would have kept a stock ROM!

Anyone any idea how to extract data from a CWM backup file? In laymans terms please, I am about ten rungs of the ladder lower than a script kiddie.

I want a decent car holder for my Samsung Note II.

Ideally, will not obscure the camera, and will mount horizontal and vertical. I'd like the sucker to be the same size as a TomTom mount, so I can put it on the same dash mounted disc I have.

I dont want to spend money on a carp fixture.

I'm sure a few of you will already be using this App, but for those of you that aren't, it's probably one of the most useful ones out there. And with the features available in the new version, certainly top of my download list!

Exporting contacts and possibly SMS from iPhone 3g

So i'm finally getting a new phone and i will need to export my address book and maybe even sms messages from my current phone which is a 3G iPhone. The replacement i'm getting will possibly be a Windows Phone 8 device so i need at least my contacts to be saved in a way that i can transfer them to that without problems.

Some of my contacts have various emails and numbers i.e. work/home/mobile so whatever method suggested need to take that into account because the program i tried before posting this failed to leaving some contacts with only an email address and no numbers whilst others had all emails and numbers included.

Replacement screen - S3

Hello guys earlier today I dropped my s3, I have not broken the touch screen or LCD display its just the front glass that has a crack on it just over the back button which goes over the screen.

The screen touch buttons etc are all working fine its just cracked so I'm thinking off replacing the front glass. I'm just wondering how easy is it to replace the front glass also my s3 is white so I was thinking off changing the colour while I'm at it to maybe black or grey.

I can't get a picture but found one that is close enough on google. Just my phone has the cracked over the home button like this below:
