are the prices quoted for free upgrades total costs or dowm payments, I thought vista prioes were going to be several hundred pounds.

Yes that right m8 if you buy Microsoft XP Pro you get a Voucher for Vista Business Edition and Media Center 2005 Upgrades to Vista Home Premium and so on.
What I would like to know does this voucher entitle you to a complete bootable copy of Vista or is it just an upgrade disk that upgrades your existing XP installation

I may be wrong, but I would imagine it is the same as alot of the windows upgrade disks.. they are bootable, and can be used for a full install, but ask you to insert the full disk of the version of windows you are upgrading from to verify that you actually own it! :)

as i say, i dont know for sure about vista, but going on other upgrade versions i've had, they are slightly more annoying to install as you have to swap discs, but they are the same as a full disc if you install it from a freshly formatted hard drive... in my experience anyway ;)

Regarding these coupons,

Do you have to buy a PC preinstalled with XP Pro or not?
I purchased XP Pro OEM + Coupon from Aria, along with a couple of drives, but upon looking at my Vista form, and the details on the upgrade site, it's asking me to provide serial numbers from the PC manufacturer etc.

I think I going to leave all the Voucher bit with Vista yes I know it will cost me more but at least I will know I getting complete bootable copy if I just buy it

I disagree, its an offer where you get a free vista ticket, i am sure that its a full version, seein as the postage is £8. I am assuming that this is the case.

m8 if you are right then yes it will be a good deal but they would still charge you for an upgrade disk as well so time will tell I hope you are right

At the moment, the serial numbers on the redemption forms are not validating on the upgrade website.

I have contacted customer support by phone and e-mail, but have had no replies so far.

It appears to be an issue affecting anyone buying the oem software with vista upgrade.
