Hello all

This is a gaming computer I'm building!

I'm currently building a new pc, and I will probably use this post for a while (1 month or so I would say) because I'm still buying components like 1 each week.

I just bought the motherboard, and the motherboard is this one:
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Motherboards/Socket+775+%28Intel%29/Asus+P5N-D+NF750i+Socket+775+Motherboard+?productId=30252

I would like you guys to help me on choosing some good stuff (not the best or expensive stuff please!).

I still need to buy a powersupply & RAM. The case and drives and hard drives I know which ones to buy, dont worry.

I already got the motherboard (Asus P5N-D nForce750i) processor which is Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz and the graphic card which is a nVidia 9800GTX+ 512MB.

What powersupply would I need for this computer? (Note! I will be using 2 hard drives, DVD Drive and I will probably would buy another nVidia 9800GTX+ 512MB in the future to get SLI.)

The RAM, I'm currently using Windows XP Pro SP3, I was thinking to put 3GB which I think its the max that will address, but what make of RAM?

If you also have any suggestions I would a appreciate :)

Thanks in advance

if you use 3Gb of ram you will loose, in all probablilty Dual channel mode.

Why not go for 4 Gb and Vista 64?

4gb you'll find is as cheap as going for 3gb.

And whats wrong with Vista???? Vista 64 works unlike xp 64 (i know your using 32bit)

If you MUST go for 3gb then make sure you get 2x 1gb and 2x 512mb so you should hopefully still get dual channel, 3x 1gb and you could well lose dual chanel operation and the performance you gain from it. OCZ would be my memory of choice but any branded stuff such as Patriot / Corsair etc would be fine. 2x 2Gb would be the sensible route though as most motherboards perform better with 2 sticks of memory.

PSU largely depends on buget but for the "lower" buget i would reccomend the OCZ Stealth extreme

If you buget is a bit more then the PCP&C 750w which may seem like overkill but you will probbably never need to buy another psu for a VERY long time.

If that is too much then you could consider the 610w version.

+1  on what that dude said ^^

I can vouch for the PCP&C 750w, it's rock solid, if you can afford it, then buy it!

EDIT: Oh and Vista isn't that bad. Anyway, what's your choices if you want to go 64-bit and use 4GB? I hear BAD things about XP64.

If I buy a 700W OCZ Stealth extreme - will it be able to keep up with 2 9800gtx+ (SLI)?
