Bought a "Fully Dell Refurbished" Dell XPS M1330 just over 4 months ago from Aria and Its not been a good time.

Before purchasing I enquired about what batteries the five or so refurb machines had and was given the dell service tag's to what the machines had.
Aria customer services nicely gave me the dell service tag's and told me that is where to look for said information. All no problems so far. Wanted a machine with the intel graphics (not the nvidia as I heard of problems) and a 6 cell battery (as would be using a lot for lectures with no sockets).

All ordered no problems but on receipt and first boot-up the machine had no operating system machine installed (vista listed using the service tag given) and had a 3-cell battery (not the 6-cell using the service tag given).

On discovering these problems I emailed Aria who apologised and offered me £17 Aria credit, less than half the price of just the battery alone but accepted just to move things along.

Now comes the major problem.

110 days after purchase the screens dies, works with an external monitor but unusable on the laptops screen.

So obviously I contact Aria who tell me it had a 90 day warranty and is 20 days passed that, fair enough.

So off I go to contact Dell who tell me the Laptop's ownership information is still registered to someone in Norway and if I had bought it "Fully Dell Refurbished" it would have had its hardware checked (it came with the wrong battery), software reset to factory defaults (it had no O/S) and ownership information reset accordingly (its still registered to someone in Norway).

So Dell will not deal with me because according to them it is registered to someone else.

A similar if not shorter email of this issue had been sitting with Aria for a week so far but as I'm currently mid final-year exams and forced to be nomadic around the university campus for a machine I shall leave my issues here in the hope I can at least get a response in the aim of having a working system sometime.
