Got 3x ROCCAT™ Taito (http://www.roccat.org/Products/Gaming-Mousepads/ROCCAT-Taito-Series/#crb_1) in S, M and L. with the medium being 5mm thick, if you're interested in any of them?

Been keeping an eye on this thread as I'm getting one myself soon.
Would there be a huge difference between a 50p mouse mat and one of these?

The thing is with a 50p mouse pad is the density of the weave. Obviously, the denser the weave the smoother the surface for the laser, the better the performance. That said, you can make a very decent mouse pad out of a flat, non-stick baking tray :D
