View Full Version : New Warbird making weird noise
Recieved my customised Warbird system on Saturday! Had a few problens regarding the sound card, but that was an easy fix.
Regarding the noise, when I shut down the PC via start>shut down - once it's shut down a whistling high pitched noise starts while it's still plugged in.
When I hit the kill switch at the back of the tower the noise stops.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
Power supply. Fault? Perhaps. Hopefully other members / staff could help clarify.
Corsair do have that occasional issue I believe. Might be able to RMA, I'd wait to hear back from one of the elite Aria guys
Hi dayormie
It's most likely to be coming from the PSU and would need to be replaced. I believe you have contacted our customer services already?
Thanks for all the replys!
@Gman - yep I called customer services this afternoon for some advice but alls i got told was to create an RMA and got emailed the link. I haven't done that yet but will do it tomorrow.
Also what's the time scale it would take to be collected/fixed/re-delivered. Is there any way of myself detecting the problem or is it best just sending it back as you think it will be the PSU?
Thanks for your help.
Hi dayormie
I'm told the current turn around time for system repairs is 7 working days. Sometimes high pitched/chirping noises can be caused by the power saving functions such as C1E. Have you noticed the noise any other time, or just when it has been shutdown?
the sound only happens when it has been shut down, but it continues untill I use the kill switch to cut the power out of the system. Everything else seems to be running smoothly it's just the high pitched noise on shutdown. I've been told that this wouldn't affect the system, its just
if I can put up with the noise and just using the switch at the back every time I shut down, but I would prefer to get the issue resolved a.s.a.p. If you have any advice or if I should just complete a RMA form please let me know. Thanks for your help.
Have you put your ear next to the PSU to confirm it is coming from there which it mostly likely is?
Hi dayormie
I think the PSU is at fault and would need to be replaced. Please submit an RMA and contact our customer services to arrange a suitable time/date for collection.
Ok Gman, I will do that on my lunch, if not when I get home from work tonight. Thanks alot for the help.
Added after 2 minutes:
No I haven't listened to the PSU. I shall open the side panel later tonight and shut to try and locate the noise.
