I am looking at buying this card: https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/PCI-E/nVIDIA+GeForce+9+Series/nVidia+GeForce+9600GT+512MB+Overclocked+PCI-E+?productId=30732

However my PSU doesn't have the PCIe power connector, does anyone know if this card comes with the adaptor? Does it actually need the 6 pin PCIe power connector?

I have posted a question on the appropriate page but who knows if/when that will be put up and if it will be answered.

Thanks.

If it has a power connector then it will definately need it. As to whether it comes with an adapter i can't guarentee it bbut it may well do.

For £2 you could always get something like this, "just in case"

i concur the vendors are so hit and miss with the cards as to whether they include an adapter, for the sake of £2 to buy one, its cheaper than a new PSU

Why can't they just use the same power connector on every PSU (eg give us 15 molex's) and then components come with cables which connect to 1-3 molex's depending on power use. Obviously replace molex here with just any standardised connector.

When the revolution comes...

Since only about 1 of my devices uses molex i wouldn't be too keen on that LOL

much prefer dedicated sata and pci-express connectors, not keen on having extra connections and converters from my PSU, just solid clean power rails in a singular cable

any new decent PSU will have enough of all connections

I am pretty sure that it would be a bad idea to use standard molex for gpus, the cable is not of the correct gague to deliver the power required, so would just melt out the cables. Also you need a special connector so taht the psu is designed to allow large current and voltage through that cable.
