Usb drive apps

Hi, my cousins pc is giving him a bit of bother. Not entirely sure what the trouble is but anyway I was wondering if anyone could reccommend some applications, like malware removal and stuff that I could run from my usb stick. There was a website that gave you links to download stuff like this, but I can't remember it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
