Hi, I recently bought a Gladiator Warbird V2 but decided to remove the cooler and overclock to save a bit of money, because I had a hyper 212 in my parents computer (which is unnessary) and I was planning to swap the coolers whenever I get a change. Before I do that I wanted to check that if it will void my warranty if I install a cooler and do little bit of overclocking (nothing more than 4-4.2GHz)?

Thanks in advance
Kanan

Yes. My warranty was voided because I installed an extra case fan (madness...). Obviously the warranty on the parts still stands - if the hard drive fails then you can take the hard drive out and RMA it, but if something goes wrong your warranty on the system is void, so you can't just send in the whole unit.

Or you could just take of the case fan back off or change the cooler back and still have warrenty... non the wiser

thanks for your replies I really appreciate it, I don't think I will do any harm to the system by installing a cooler so PCplod's idea sounds the most sensible thing to do.

As long as you call CS and let them know what you intend to change and no physical damage results from this its fine.
