Hey guys, sorry ive been away :P
I have a net gear wireless router. I want to install a belkin card slot onto my pc. Just wondering if it will work with the router. Maybe a silly question but just making sure before i lose money on nothing ;)
If they both support one of the following then you should be all good.
802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n.

Thanks mate :) but what does that mean? how do i find this out? sorry im completely oblivious to the world of wireless
Should have it on the box, or on the devices themselves, or on the internets

Thanks M8! any idea which is a good to buy? :)
Just make sure to enable your wireless security, and change the default passwords. Otherwise someone will steal your internets for sure.
I use WPA (PSK) + TKIP which I read is ok. You should have some options for this.

Will be fine, all modern WiFi devices should work togather.

just ordered the wireless card. hope everything works out
If you have any problems feel free to ask me, i have to deal with about 20 wireless issues a day
And most of which are BT homehubs which are ****e, they say they have wireless N but they dont, they have two wireless g's slapped together and pretty much nothing works with them unless you change then to g and set the security to wep
Quick shot, do you know how to enter your default gateway?

can i put a hoover to my pc? lol
Uhh, well I reckon there's a static risk with that but some people do it and never have a problem.
I prefer to take it outside and use compressed air, usually from my lungs :p

I have done so, but I would suggest leaving the mains lead connected but the PSU turned off, that way the case is earthed.
