7k is a pretty good score well lets put it this way i can't find a higher score on there for a single cored A64 based system using a 7800gt. 8)

Ok to get a compare url you don't need the full version, the free one will do but you are limited to what you can do. First register on futuremark.com if you havent already. Then run the benchy prog of your choice, and once it has finished you will be asked if you want to upload (now you have registered you will be able to upload 3d05, 06, pcmark anything from futuremark).

Once uploaded goto futuremark and click on the ORB tab top leftish of the screen this will take you to the \"online reults browser\" from there click \"projuect manager\" and this page will allow you to choose which benchmark programs results you want to look at. Chose 3d05 and any results you have uploaded will show up (upto 5 results can be uploaded using the free version) Select whichever one give it a name, click on \"active\" and \"puplished\" then \"update\" when you have done this you can copy the compare url (under the project box) for everyone to see what you got.

Hope this helps.

You are looking for something like this.

When over clocking graphics cards they shouldn't really run hotter at all, well not significantly anyway 1 or 2 degrees.

Overclocking can be very rewarding if done properly and you dont go mad upping voltages, upping voltage is the main cause of temperature increase, and component failure. Take your time and you should be ok, what cu cooler you got? Case sounds like its sorted for cooling.

I say go for it mate, i have overclocked a 3500 before and got it 2.5ghz stable and that was an older one so you should be able to at least match that.

Opteron is watercooled but if you didn't want to go that far i can understand, but its not as difficult as you may think to do Thermaltake do some nice \"begginers kits\" i started with the Bigwater SE and currently have half of the Bigwater 745 kit fitted. It keeps my Oppy at mid 30's on load which i am please about. They are quite cheap as watercooling kits go @ £80. For good air cooling i would recommend Tuniq tower its mahoosive but supposed to be excellent, though dunno where you can get one, failing that i have used a thermalright XP90c and found that to be good.

At the end of the day if its copper and heat pipe design you wont go far wrong.

Pyle, I am running a single core Venice too.... 3000+ with stock speed of 1.8GHz.... I run it day in Day out at 2.7Ghz on a Vapochill Extreme, But any decent fan should work a treat, I recommend the Arctic Cooling Pro one!

The only CPU ive used and managed to clock further is the Opteron 144 939, which is very similar to the Venice 3000+ but with double the Cache and clocked to 3Ghz... WoW

I was lucky that may ram would take this, Corsair XMS Pro, DDR400 running stable at cas2 at almost 600mhz If I rememer rightly.. This is pretty rare without crazy priced ram like Mushkin, but you could use multipliers, or drop your ram speed if you have generic DDR.

tbh, its rude not to clock a Venice. Post your specs and we will help you squeeze the most out of it :)

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y1/mac124/smilies/rock.gif Quad sli shown up by a single 1900. Just goes to show more isn't necessarily better, to be fair though i don't think quad sli is officially supported by nvidias drivers.

Still i am indeed chuffed :D

Been fiddling with my internet pc and fitted a new cooler to the gfx card and installed some clock gen software to oc in windows as the bios only allows me to oc to 240 fsb, like yeah thats enough i maxed that out within 10 mins of finishing installing the drivers (not really......was more like half a hour  )

For some reason i can't upload my results any more  so here is a screenie.
