Need to tweak it seems...
I clearly need to upgrade, I got 1993, some of the tests had an FPS of 0, yet on the HL2 Gfx test it run a 93 fps??? Any ideas??
P4 3.2ghz
1 gig ram (Matched 512's running dual channel)
6800gt 256mb
GA-800IPE
240gb HD
LG DVD-RAM, Sony DVD-ROM
I need to get a decent PSU which could be part of the problem I think, got a 650W (Yah right) q-tec. Can anyone suggest a goot (cheapish) 550-650w psu, silent if possible?

Thats by no means a bad score fo a 6800gt, the tests where you get under 1 fps are the cpu only tests, even the most powerful pcs barely get 1fps, so don't be too bothered by your result.
Please throw that qtec away asap, i have heard some good things and some bad about the hyper type r (a few have failed according to other forums) personally i would go for a tagan / thermaltake.
When you say cheap how much are you willing to spend?

Well between 30-40, I suppose I could stretch to 50 at a push. Just done a PSU calculator and it seems 400 would cover my spec so I'll look for a 500w one, or would u suggest get a bigger one for future use?
Psu is one place you should never cut corners, i would rather go ott and know its going to cope easily than run a cheap psu balls out so to speak. If you can stretch to it i would recommend a Tagan 480, Tagan are a reputable make and i have owned them in the past. Think it retails at about £50ish, remember if the psu dies it could well take out other things too.

LOL Oh I know, a similar Q-tec one took out my mobo only a few months ago so I bought an \"uprated\" one - I totally agree, I will get a new one Asap, this could be affecting my score as well. Cheers fella!

So would I!
I had a generic 350w PSU that came with my case 3 years ago. It was powering 4 HDDs, along with the usual kit. I decided to replace it when I heard the drives clicking and slowing down (most likely from a lack of power). I've owned a Tagan 480w since last summer, and they're outstanding. Very quiet, very efficient, and lots of nice clean power.
You'll notice the quality too, sleeved/heatshrink etc.
I'll be purchasing another psu from aria soon, and I'll probably opt for another 480w Tagan, but the modularity of the Hiper looks very nice.

While I like the modular hyper I think the Tagan is what I'll go for, cheers for the advice folks!

2417 with my new Hiper type-r 580w! It does make a difference, not a lot, but a step in the right direction!
hmm
Only got 1580 - making my comp look v poor-
mostly i blame the mobo and graphics setup.
=( shame really...
gonna see if i put it what i can get...

I'd definately ditch that elixir ram from your gaming rig that memory is some of the worst ram ive come across in 10 years of fixing pc's if your thinking of crucial then you cant go wrong with the ballistix range but you should try <snipped by Firerat> (http://www.aria.co.uk/lucy/viewtopic.php?t=174) as they will have a better range and maybe a better price for some real decent ram (dont overlook OCZ as they do some nice ram sticks)
Firerat Edit :
Sorry jimbojambojumbo, I have had to edit your post! Please see Lucy's Rules (http://www.aria.co.uk/lucy/viewtopic.php?t=174)
I did however compare some of the prices with what we do stock, Aria won :D and by quite a margin!!
The best place to ask for new product lines is Wishlist (http://www.aria.co.uk/lucy/viewforum.php?f=10), ( Manufactures link appreciated )
It also might be an an idea to give our sales line a call on 0870 499 2499, especially for more high end specialist stock, we could get it in to order
