You can see the spec of my laptop in the signature...I want to upgrade it to 4GB from 2GB, is this a job anybody can do? I've upgraded RAM and graphics cards etc, but is upgrading RAM in a laptop harder? I've watched a few videos on how to do it :P

Its similar to pc ram, except it runs horizontal, slightly harder to fit, not too bad.

Depends what you currently have fitted and how the ram is fitted in the laptop.

If you are unlucky it will have 2 sticks fitted and you might have to remove the keyboard to get at one of the sticks to replace it, not all laptops are like this though.

If you are slightly unlucky it will have two sticks BUT they are under a single panel on the bottom of the machine meaning you have to replace both sticks but don't need to rip the machine apart to do it.

If you are lucky it will have one stick fitted meaning you only have to buy one stick and fit it under the panel on the bottom of the machine.

Better still throw it in the bin and get a proper pc ;)

yer i do have a proper PC...but laptops can be carried around ^^ ANYWAY...I think it'll be x2 1GB :( but I'm gonna up it too 4GB cause its just no enough really, and the gfx card has a HUGE turbo cache so that should also help performance on games where currently the RAM is 95% used!
