The Sata Ports are hosted by two different controllers,
- SATA1~6 ports support RAID 0/1/5/10 mode by Intel P67 PCH
- SATA7~8 ports support RAID 0/1 mode by Marvell SE9128

As the SataIII ports 1+2 and 7+8 are on different controllers,
- Supports two SATAIII ports (SATA1~2) by P67 PCH
- Supports two SATAIII ports (SATA7~8) by Marvell SE9128

Will this still allow me to RAID 1(Strip) 4x 1TB SataIII drives or is this not possible over multiple controllers?

Nah, you can't run a hardware RAID drive over multiple controllers, especially not from different manufacturers.

Why not run Raid-10 on ports 1-6 ?

Because I have 4 Sata3 drives, Having a RAID 10 with 2 drives on Sata3 and the other 2 on Sata2 will be just be unbalanced performance. :(

If they're all 1TB drives you're wasting the SATA3 ports anyway ;) Best bet is to put all 4 on SATA2 and Raid-10 :thumb:

Only SSDs will make use of more bandwidth than a SATA2 port can offer.
