Hi,
I have had my Aria built PC for a couple of months now. Here (https://www.aria.co.uk/WishList/ISup7I9HF8e71bbz9dzKrQ,,) is the spec.

In the past few weeks, each time the PC has been off for a while (more than a few hours) and I boot it up, a noise develops somewhere inside the PC. It sounds like an unbalanced fan but I can't pinpoint the exact component that is making the noise.

Here is a video of a startup with the case door off. You may need to turn up the volume a bit.

The noise sounds louder than the video represents. I tried to feel the components that have a fan to see if I could feel any vibration. The CPU cooler, graphics card and PSU all felt fine.

I thought noise sounded like it was coming from the front of the case so I removed the front case panel and stopped the fan from spinning. This did nothing so it can't be the intake fan.

Here is another video with the case door on.

You can here at the end of the video me tapping on the front of the case. A gentle tap usually stops the noise after the PC has been running a minute or so. If I restart the PC after the noise has stopped it doesn't reappear, it only happens on a cold boot.

I live in Nottingham so taking it back to Aria would be tricky/expensive so I would rather fix it myself if possible. But it's not like I have any spare parts that I can use, so I know that may be very difficult.

Has anyone got any ideas what it could be? Or how to go about finding which component is faulty? I hope it's not he PSU as I was a cheap skate and bought a non modular one :cry

Thanks in advance
James

Thats a grindy fan, just stop each fan in the case till you find out what one it is and then unplug it and replace it

Thanks, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to check again as it needs to be off for a while for it to make the grindy noise again.

Are you sure it won't be the CPU cooler/PSU/graphics card fan then? I hope it's just one of the 3 140mm case fans as that would be a cheap fix.

Indeed. Worst case scenario would be the PSU fan, but it sounds more like it's coming from the GFX to me.

If it works fine after it might be worth just leaving it alone, or if it's in warranty requesting help from Aria themselves.
