Hi all, it's time to upgrade my current graphics card, as it's the only thing letting my PC down, my budget is around the £180 mark, I have seen the 8800GT in action and i am impressed with it a lot, so anything better than one of those would be fantastic, as i want to play the latest games, i do prefer Nividia, as i have had ATI cards before and i end up loosing my bloob, any suggestions?

GTX 260's start at a little over £200 so if you can up your buget by £30 or so i would recommend one of those. If thats too much and it has to be from the green team then you would be looking for a 9800gtx.

As mac124 has said, go for the 260s, if you can stretch to it.
Failing that get a BFG 9800gtx+ oc (Aria not stocking them anymore?)
it rips through all games at 1600 x 900 maxed out. no probs. also it will oc more even tho it is factory Ocd.

If your going for a GTX260, wait for the 55nm versions, they are 10% faster for the same clock speed, and consume far less power.

fun fun fun, spending somebody elses money :D

I would go with the Asus Radeon HD 4870 which can be found here http://tinyurl.com/96s77n

Seeming tho that you said you didn't like Ati cards and u like the "green team" :D get the XFX 9800GTX+ =] which can be found here http://tinyurl.com/8h8bkg

Happy shopping/New Year :D:D:D

For your budget the 4870 does fit and is comparable to the GTX260, but is slower, whatever you pick, have fun :)

Well on some games it (4780) gets better performance, but FPS in total on all games tested on tomshardware it gets around 50FPS less. Still the 4870 is £20 cheaper...is it worth it, well thats for the buyer to decide :D

LOL!

Get the 260 core 216.

Far less heat, less noise, (fan sticks to 40% like glue under full load), most games are nvidia optimized to effects looks better (world reflect in scope, flicking lights etc) better driver support, when overclocked kicks the 4870 to the gutter even more!

Cracking price here!!

Wait for the 55nm version in mid january, 10% faster at stock speeds, and overclocks like hell, requires far less power.
