View Full Version : Student Discounts Online
This achedemic year the NUS card system is changing so each student has a unique discount identifier that can be used on a lot of online stores such as amazon. Any chance that aria will be able to do so?
Pretty please?
Its either that or try and convince someone they want to drive to manchester ;) Pretty unlikely though
Give me a few days and I'll look into it guys. I was once a rather skint student so I do understand the need for discount
I shall do my best!!

As someone doing a part time degree course, I'd be VERY intersted in any student discount Aria could provide.

Hi,
Has there been anymore development on this as I am about to spend a fair amount of money with Aria and could really REALLY use my student discount right now, and sadly I have no way of getting to Manchester :(
I have the NUS extra card as well as my UCAS confirmation letter to confirm my student status
So, any chance?
Cheers, Craig
Hi,
Aria do accept Student Discounts, but you will have to go to the Manchester Base to get the discount.
Firerat is looking into this for us.

Ok thanks for the reply, sounds like it's gonna be long winded though, which means it will be too late for my big purchase :(
Any idea how much discount is given?
Cool .... So how about a OAP discount .. 10% Wednesdays ??

Hey guys,
Unfortunately we can't offer Student Discount online. We did look into becoming part of NUS but there were a couple of reasons we didn't go ahead.. Firstly, not all students have an NUS card and at the time, the education year had already started and the NUS literature for you guys had already been printed and published.
We are, however, going to do more with the new website for students... (we can't really disclose specifics cause we don't want those competitors of ours stealing those all important ideas! )
I know that doesn't help those of you that are purchasing now but please know that we haven't forgotten about it or you!

OK, thanks for the reply :)
One thing I've wondered about the student discounts: is there any way to find out online how big the discount would actually be? That way I can tell if it's worth the trip to Manchester :)
Hi Matt,
Dont expect the discount to be big, it will only be somthing like 2-5% at the most im guessing. I dont think Aria can afford to give high discounts out because of the low prices they offer on there site anyway.
Anyway i dont think people who buy from Aria need a discount anyway as there prices are low as it it.
Regards,
Michael Walmsley
Oh yeah, I know they're cheap anyway - I remember a friend bought a load all his components for a pc from various places and thought he'd got a bargain but when I priced it up on aria it was about £150 cheaper - but I'll take anything I can get!
Hey MattC,
We don't really have any way of telling I'm afraid. The discount differs from product to product and sometimes day to day! I know that's not very helpful but if you PM the details of your purchase around the time you would be coming to the shop, I can go downstairs and ask for an approximate figure for you?.. :)

Cheers, I'll try to remember to do that when I get round to ordering :)
