This could bring back competitive pricing :D
Uhh what? The bottom left corner of a CPU-Z window is supposed to prove this actually happened?
Also the fact that you can get to over 6GHZ on liquid nitrogen means nothing. So they will shift a few dozen more chips to people who like to kill CPU's for sport, big whoop.
Show me the 4GHz on water/air and I might get excited.
On that note:

Bring back AMD... its not gonna happen but it would be nice
I'd wait and see mate, Deneb is looking quite good, ok maynot be quite upto top end i7 performance but the early impressions are pretty good, alot depends, as always, on price.
And stability, and all round performance
I hope AMD start winning again :P

If Phenom II overclocks better than i7 but with fewer effective cores and is priced a little cheaper then AMD would be onto a winner with people looking to buy cheap and overclock.
Too right, AMD need to get there finger out and start whoopin intel ***
Thats what you mean right?
But seriously, you are right, if they do make the phenom 2 quite cheap and it turns out to be a nice OC'er and fairly quick as standard, it will be a nice turning point
No point having eighteen bazillion effective cores if nobody is going to use them :p
Fewer cores, more clocks = win :)
