Ok so I've seen this to be a ongoing problem with the 4870. The problem is, I can't get any output on DVI from the card, I can only get it on VGA. There's a really big thread about it on AMD's forums here (http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=260&threadid=96981&STARTPAGE=1&FTVAR_FORUMVIEWTMP=Linear) and as far as I can tell it's down to the monitor it's self having problems as some work with it and other don't. My monitor is a fairly old LG 19" L194WT (https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+19/19%22+LG+Widescreen+TFT+DVI+?productId=27992) and I was cosidering replacing it with a new 22" monitor to see if it can get the signal in DVI from the card which I'd much prefer to VGA. I have the drivers up to date with the latest CCC. The monitor works fine until I install the drivers, then the problems start as described on AMD's forums.

So what I'm looking for here is some suggestions on remedies and if anyone else has this card, which monitor are you using with it on digital output?

Cheers

I had a problem similar to this, turnd out the old drivers hadn't been uninstalled properly.

Download this

http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/

run in safe mode a couple of times, rebooting between runs, and try the new drivers again.

Only difference being i was going from ati to nvidia drivers and the damn ati drivers refused to uninstall properly. So this may or may not help.

This is a fresh build, but I'll give it a go anyways and see how it goes. Cheers dude :)!

Edit: Tried cleaner a few times and reinstalled and I still couldn't get anything from it :(
