HDD cylinder access mode in BIOS

what is the cylinder access mode in my BIOS i can set it to "auto" "small" or "large" is large better cuz its "large?". Its at auto right now but i was curious what it does and nobody has seemed to have started a topic about this.

Those are legacy settings from the days before auto detection.

Leave them on auto.
