Rebecca Black has been forced to leave high school and have lessons at home after suffering bullying from her classmates.
According to ABC News, the singer, who became a worldwide star when her single 'Friday' became a viral hit, has revealed that her classmates would persistently sing the lyrics to 'Friday' to her whenever she walked by and even had the cheek to ask her what day it was.
She said of the 'bullying':
When I walk by they'll start singing 'Friday' in a really nasally voice. Or, you know, they'll be like, 'Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?'
Black's mother has also said that home schooling will give her daughter more time to focus on her career and that the family have also hired a bodyguard to protect her safety.
The singer also said she had always wanted to famous, admitting, "I was one of those little girls who practiced signing autographs since I was five years old."

Pretty much
Feel slightly sorry for her I suppose, but then again if she can afford a bodyguard it's not like she's ever going to have a properly hard life.
I really should have waited till tomorrow to post this .... :(

Lol, the poor kid, having a song which she made a sensation (Maybe not in the right way) sung at her. Other kids have been through way worse (on the v. tip of suicide) and have got through it.
I think i`ll save time later on and move this to the RB now ;)

You know this Friday I think I'll famous too!
"more time to focus on her career". I hope that doesn't mean singing career, in 5 years time we won't even remember her. Awk moment she thinks it can only go up from here.
"more time to focus on her career"
best news ever i look forward to future songs.

I hear there's a future song by her which is going to be called "Monday", a little more depressing than the Friday song.

when I read bullying, I was thinking getting into fights, or bad mouthing her!
I cant actually image it happening.... poor kid.... Well, she did write an incredibly bad song so its her fault in essence. TROLOLOLOL
Famous for all the wrong reasons. kinda like how a mass murderer gets famous i guess

That song is awful and her mum should feel bad for only paying writers a lousy $4000 to write her daughter a teeny pop song.
body gaurd? did that song earn money?

Must have got quite a bit from all the interviews she had with US networks. Not to mention revenue from YouTube.
The irony is that she's doing well by being bad and the kids who are bullying her are jealous of her fame / notoriety.
revenue from YouTube? does youtube pay artists?

Yeah you can become some sort of associate or something if your content is successful. You get a slice of the advertising, like google ads.
I know about the advertising on youtube videos, but who clicks on those links really,
not only that, who clicks and get his wallet out and buy

You'd be surprised. I think online ads still work just for page views. Like an advert poster you see in the street.
You don't necessarily buy that product off the back of the advert, but when you are thinking about making a purchase the advert could influence who you choose to buy from.
I guess you are right, I bet marketing nowdays understand human thinking deeply on contrast of old times when it was brute force marketing

I know I should'nt have, but I lol'd...hard :ninja:
You sound like Jean-Claude Van Damme in that Coors advert...
"I lol'd, I lol'd hard...."
Did I understand correctly that she feels people asking her what day it is, or singing her own song back to her classes as bullying?
Is there more going on that I've missed? as surely its only annoying as hell, not bullying? Not quite sure she should of expected anything less really.
If shes still around in 5 years I'm committing suicide
not to be mean and cynical but its her own bloody fault for making the song anyway, and her idea of uploading the song to rise to fame kinda worked; everybody knows who she is know anyway hehe
