removing any cpu bottleneck is the best way to get a fair comparison as nv cards have more brute power to work thru a cpu bottleneck when compared to cards by ati in the same price bracket.

your results would be better if your i7 hits 3.8ghz :D or your c2q hits 4.1ghz.....

yup but the numbers wont be as high ;)

i know that, but what it shows is the difference in FPS per card. I would expect this difference gap to remain the same but with obviosly slightly lower overall FPS with a different CPU.

Although looking at the fallout 3 benchmarks my E8400/gtx 260 combo comes VERY close to the FPS they got there :thumbsup:

nVidia tweaked their drivers for those 5 "christmas" games then asked review sites to take a look. Shockingly all the review sites found big gains. Except the above, which ignored nVidia's suggested review list.

280 too expensive and not too justifyable when 260's so rock bottom priced :thumbsup:
