Turning uac off will wipe your cod4 account if you have the game, i know how to recover it incase you do want to turn off uac.

I had something similar all i had to do was run the setup.exe as administrator. Once the disk is in the cd drive explore it and find the installation file, usually called setup.exe then right click on it and select "run as administrator", worked for me anyway.

Easiest way to disable it as a test is to run MSCONFIG (just type MSCONFIG into the search box in the start menu). Go to the tools tab. Scroll to the bottom. Highlight "Disable UAC" and then click the Launch button.

You will get a little balloon reminding you that you've disabled it on startup, but if its just a test it should be too much of an issue :)

Do re-enable it, just do exactly the same, but highlight "Enable UAC" instead :)
