Real statement of intent from the board, I can see them pushing for Europe.

They've bought so far:

Ji Dong-Won
James Vaughan
John O'shea
Wes Brown
Craig Gardener
Seb Larsson
Keiren Westwood
Connor Wickham

On top of their current squad, with the likes of Gyan.

Not sure what the odds are, but worth a punt on them getting into Europe. If I could, I would ;)

Plus, I'm sure there's more signings to come.

As I posted before, theyve pretty much guaranteed survival as much as anyone can.

top 10 I would think.

Plus, it's not like some overseas investor's plummeted £50mil into them, the board have done it slowly over time. Pretty good stability wise too.

Great example of a well run football club :)

They're basically a league team, so that doesn't count :p

AFC Telford's on the other hand... :ninja:

In fairness we've got a bloody nice stadium for a league 1 club ;)

Just we've lacked the board level management to keep us stable. Hopefully thats different now

How much did the stadium cost the club out of interest?

No idea, Reynolds said 20 million, but I doubt that very much.

I'd say it cost more if anything. Nene Park cost £35m. Even the New Bucks Head cost £16m about 10 years ago.

I guess thats true, Im a little bitter I guess, as he made the club pay for it, and we didnt need or want it.

There is some talk that you may get Welbeck on loan again. I hope so, Brucey could use another striker.

I know thats what my Mackam mates were hoping for, I think that would really tip things in their favour, on face value I think Newcastle are gonna be hard pressed to finish top dogs this year.

Being a Sunderland fan and reading this thread, it put a huge smile on my face this morning! I have to be honest, we've made some excellent signings this summer and I think we have an excellent chance of competing for a European spot. Unfortunately I don't think we'll achieve it. We have an awful away record, and as always, for a few months after xmas we tend to have a bad streak.

I know that Welbeck was happy at Sunderland I do hope he returns, he's a strong player and has a lot to offer!

Let's hope Bruce signs on a beachball too!

i think Welbeck will leave Utd for another loan spell Sunderland look favourites but Everton also interested another year out on loan and he could make a real push to get into the 1st team at Utd.
