Well, I would like to buy a sort of gaming computer with a budget of 600£ including monitor that will be a 22" (about 130£)

I´m thinking about these:

129.19£

http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displ...roductId=30783 (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+20+-+23/22%22+Hyundai+Widescreen+Monitor+X224W+?productId= 30783)

129.19£

http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displ...roductId=33210 (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+20+-+23/22%22+BlueH+H224W++Widescreen+LCD+Monitor+-+powered+by+Hyundai+?productId=33210)

131.54£
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displ...roductId=32431 (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+20+-+23/22%22+LG+Widescreen+TFT+Monitor+Silver+?productId= 32431)

Anyway, it leaves me about 470£ for building the CPU, I was thinking in buy a MB with SLI so in the future I could buy a second Graphic Card. I was going to buy a Nvidia 8800GT, but I have been reading about the HD 4850 and 4870 so, I really don´t know now.

I´ll just explain what i had decided a few weeks ago, but... as usual, I´ll change my mind somehow, probably depending of what you answer.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16 Ghz 6 MB Cache --> +- 111£
4gb Geil Black Dragon 2x2gb -------------------> +- 40£
250Gb Samsung F1 Sata 2, 16 MB -------------->+- 30£
Corsair Silent vx 450Watt PSU------------------->+-43£
512 MB Nvidia 8800GT Pci Express--------------->+-85£
Gigabyte Triton Black Case---------------------->+-36£
Asus p5n-D Sli MB------------------------------>+-73£

I was considering too:

PSU--> OCZ 600 watt stealth xtreme----------------->+-50£
Case-->Antec Three hundred cool and quiet gaming case->+-35£
GC-->As above, HD 4850 & 4870, although pricey
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro ------------------------->+-14£

I guess I´ll go for Vista 64 premium, although i like much more xp 64

I hope you can help

You've not included an OS in that.

With 4Gb I assume that you will be looking at Vista 64 Home Premium?

if you wanted to use 2 hd4850 or 4870's you would need a crossfire board and not Sli

ai use crossfire nvidia use sli

Otori

True, and i would have to change MB and use AMD, so it would be much more hassle and unless is really worthy i´d rather stick with this options.

That´s why i´m asking for advice :P

You don't need to change the chip to amd to use crossfire. Intel chipsets are available that offer crossfire.

:eek:
Any suggestions about MB with crossfire?
Do you think that is better ATI than Nvidia?
Any other comments about the options chosen?
Anything you would change?

solid build tbh only thing is the frezzer pro will need a small mod so it fits as the p5n d has a big heat sink on the nb.

This board offers, intel, great ddr2 memory speeds, great oc'ing, PCI-e 2.0 speeds and crossfire >>>

Go for a 4850 or 4870 whichever fits your budget :)

The only problem is that the price of the mb will go 40£ and the GC at least another 60£ so, the price is going up too much.

I think i should stay with SLI or find a cheaper MB for crossfire

sli line up and cheap sli chipsets out at the mo suck!

Is there any good case within the budget with enough space for the MB and the freezer pro without having to do any mods?

Is it good idea to install the freezer?

Any thoughts about the PSU?

Corsair Silent vx 450Watt or OCZ 600 watt stealth xtreme

what about the case?

Gigabyte Triton Black Case or Antec Three hundred cool and quiet gaming case

its not the case its that mobo, tbh i would say get the vendetta 2 as it cools like a heatsink twice its price and i havent seen any reports of clearence issues.

Do you mean instead of the arctic freezer?

Yes thats what he means.

With the arctic freezer you'll have to snip away part of the bottom left plastic fan mount and bend the bottom aluminium fin down a bit.

No biggie, it's what I have done. The vendetta 2 is probably better than the freezer 7 in terms of performance so I would go for that.

Thanks very much.

i have read somewhere in this forum, that staff from aria can build up all the hardware and deliver it to you. I can´t find in the website how much this service would it be.

Does anyone know the rates for this service and delivered?

I have been told above that the build i was thinking it´s solid, but i have been told that i could use dual HD with crossfire MOB, so can anyone give me a suggestion?

Shall i go for MB--> MSI p35 NEO2-FR Socket 775 and dual HD 4850 512mb
or as above------> Asus p5n-D Sli MB and dual Nvidia 8800 GT 512mb

to get us to build it for you just ring sales (http://www.aria.co.uk/contact+aria) (http://www.aria.co.uk/Support/Contact+Aria)
and talk to them :)

Highly constructive and valuable contribution to the forums :|

Otori, I think it will only be the sales team who can give you a quote. Best to ring them.

Hi, I´m thinking in building this...running vista 64

2xHD 4870
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz 95W G0
Samsung SH-S203 20X DVDRW - SATA – Black
320Gb Samsung HD322HJ F1 SATA
Antec P182 Advanced Super Midi Tower - Gun Metal Black
EDIT: OCZ 700W GameXStream SLI Ready PSU (that should do)
GeIL 4GB PC2-6400 C5 Black Dragon 2x2Gb
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R P45 Socket 775 8 Channel Audio ATX

I would like advice about:

1) If everything will fit together
2) If there are any other pieces of hardware I should look at, it would be better if they are cheaper than the actual ones :lol:

About screen I´m still confused. I liked the Benq 22" 16:9 E2200HD but the hannsg 22" from aria is Ok too. It just look like something is happening with the benq that is out of stock everywhere.

my only concern would be if the gpus need more power than the psu can give.

Otori
02-11-08, 18:47
I got my doubts as well, but i don´t think I need more than 700 watt psu. I´m still reading about it.

Thanks for the advice.

I would get reaper ram if possible, reaper X as a preference, mine runs at 1000mhz, and tight timings of 5-4-4-15

Are there any other motherboards you could suggest me? Anything cheaper? I´m playing within a tight budget.
