The one thing I still don't get are motherboards and its new computer time. Used predomiantly for online gaming, rpgs and some rts.

My current setup is:
Intel Conroe Core 2 Duo E6400 OEM 2x 2.13 2Mb 1066 MHz LGA775
XFX Geforce 7900GT 256MB PCI-E 256bit, GDDR3 Dual DVI-I HDTV Mfr# PVT71GUDFR
Crucial 1GB DDR2 PC5300 240-PIN CT12864AA667
X-Blade MIDI Tower Case Black CAS-449BK
250GB Maxtor D/Max+10 133/7200 16M Lead Free RoHS Replaces 6B250R0
Mitsumi Floppy + Card Reader Black
Microsoft Windows XP Home OEM SP2
NEC ND-3550A 16x DVDRW DL Black

But what mobo to get? or any other changes you'd suggest?

I have recently bought an
Abit AB9 PRO i965 (http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=23723)

Not had Much of a chance to play with it yet, but have had my E6600 Overclocked to 3gig

I went for this board for the SATA , it has 9 Internal and 1 External

BTW for the Extra 6 quid I would go for the Retail E6400 (http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=23825).
You get a Heatsink/Fan and a three year Intel Warranty (http://support.intel.com/support/processors/sb/cs-020033.htm#2)

I agree always go retail on the CPU for the extra that it costs the warranty is worth it alone
