Bought an eruptionx 4 in january of this year and it has been hardly usable since i purchased it.

Press the start button and after a quick whirl of the fans it would just stop and couldn't be restarted until after apporx 3 to 5 minutes. sometimes it would continue doing this several times, sometimes after the first error it would then start as normal.
As the months have passed this problem has occured less and less and has only happened twice in the last month.

But the major problem has been the graphics card, constant black screens followed by error messages saying kernelmode drivers stopped working, then after a few of those i would either get a lock-up of the pc or a bsod.
every error message following lock-ups or bsod have all related to graphic hardware problems.

I took the pc back to aria who had it for 3 weeks and they said they found no issues despite win7 reliability report showing it had several graphic problems in the last week it was with them.:censored:

so what do i do now ?
if i take it back again and they find no fault i am stuck with a pc that has never gone more than 1 day without faults.
am i entitled to a refund ?
i am 7 months into a 12 month warranty of a pc which i have only had a couple of month use from due to the problems i listed above.

Any advice gratefully received

Call customer service. ;) if any of my components were causing my PC to crash (let alone a full, warranted PC) I would be sending it straight back.

Have you tried formatting the machine and starting again? Drivers and dodgy software can sometimes make a good machine unstable. Also have you tried any components in another computer, in particular the GPU?

did reformat etc etc months ago just after a first got the pc and had all these problems.
I'm not going to be swopping anything over as i paid good money for a brand new machine that included warranty for 12 months.

this is what i have to put up with, i have to re-install the drivers every other day because they disappear along with the graphics card from the system every other bsod.

So anoying isn't it? they didn't find any problem that you have got!
What the GPU card you got?

its a msi version of a nvidia gtx 460 1mb ( hopes that makes sense to you, i'm just reading it off the web page)

The really annoying part is that because of my work i seldom get chance to have a proper conversation with them to fully discuss the problems and possible solutions and trying to get through on the phone is frustrating at the best of times.

Its got to the point now where if they said " its the colour of your socks" i'd be happy just so i had a solution.:chuckle:

does anyone understand this -
values relate to - core clock ,memory clock, shader clock then just temps etc etc

i did a benchmark test while running gpu-z and noticed the sudden jump in values highlighted.
I have no idea what it means , so can anyone tell me what it means ?

The sudden increase in clocks is because the card decreases them (and voltage) under no load situations to conserve power and keep the temperatures down etc. So when its under load it ramps them up to its "normal" running clocks / voltage etc.

I am afraid i have no idea what to suggest regarding your problems though, i assume the drivers have been reinstalled by either yourself or Aria? Or a complete reinstall of windows?

If its not a software issue short of swapping hardware out to eliminate which part is faulty i don't see what else you can do tbh.

I'd run an extensive memory test, first.

If that passes try swapping out the graphics card or running on on-board graphics if the board has it. It may well be worth buying a cheap £20-30 graphics card to test with, as you can always sell it on afterwards.

when the speeds/clocks etc listed above jumped it was during a stress test that had been running for a few minutes already, while they were jumping around i got got black screens/blue screens/freezes and finally restarts.

Good news is i finally got time to take this piece of crap back tomorrow and hopefully get it sorted.
it has been without doubt the most un-reliable pc i have ever owned.

PS: if i bought a brand new car and it was faulty i would not go round swopping parts untill i found the fault, i would expect the garage to put it right under warranty.

Don't take that personally to anyone who has wrote with help, i fully appreciate the help everyone has offered but there would be no way i would spend more money on this.

just wonder is it something to do with overclock ?

ajsmith66
15-08-11, 22:06
It lost its overclock in the first 2 days of me running it, it "bsod" and it wouldn't restart untill i went in to bios and selected "load default ".

After it came back from aria after "being fixed" i noticed it was still on default settings which i thought was a bit strange them not changing it but i was originally just pleased i got it back.

just an update for anyone reading or helped -

took the system back, had a new graphics card installed and an extra cooling case fan.

2 mins after getting it back it started with the same old troubles.

2 days later big blue flash from the psu and the hard drive isn't showing up anymore.

i am now waiting for a reply to my request for my money back.

all faith in aria is now lost.

Did they replace anything on your rig? if they didn't how can they said it was fine and give you back without any problem ! I hope they can help you with this or the last resort is get the money back!

Why has no one from Aria Tech posted anything on here to help or guide you with this problem, it was posted in July and we are now in September. Not very good customer Service, come on Aria get this sorted for him or refund his money.

It's not in the customer care section so probably hadn't received the exposure it would have got there. Hopefully a mod can move it there if necessary. I hope you all the best getting your problem solved.

just a quick thanks to all those interested and helping out.

I've spoke to customer services who told me to put all the issues in an e-mail.
sent the e-mail twice now but still no reply.

In my mail i'm listing the whole saga and asking for my money back now- i've had enough.
i'm just about to post the entire mail in the customer care section in the hope i get a response.
