You could always try running the problem hard drive as a slave and see if you can get some data off it that way.

Prolly an easier and quicker short term sollution would be, to Jumper the drive as a slave, bang it in the other machine, get the stuff off it...then format it...nice n clean whether its staying in as a slave or going in as an external.


depends how quick ya need the stuff off it... :wink:

Assuming nothing has been NTFS encrypted under your mates Windows user account... :oops:

I have a little USB2 > IDE converter cable, even easier than slaving it to another computer... they cost about £20 from Maplins (ducks...) :P
