They're marked as "out of stock" and not "pre order.
Edit. I see it's changed :P
Hmm, are any of those reference design?
That's good bang for buck if you can't spend more than £60

Great price for a brand new HD 4890, they go for this price on ebay used.
2 of these in crossfire still gives great performance and should max pretty much any game out?

I'll take 4.
Nice deals!

I have one of these running in my q6600 system and still a brilliant card, and for this money a total bargain.
I wish I got a bigger psu when i built my pc now D:.
Still debating which to get...

total bargain, best B4B right here no doubt, with a little OC in DX9-10 these will perform nearly as well as the 5850

These are no were gear 5850's, even when overclocked.
Given recent drivers they have trouble beating 5770's and 6790's.

They 4890's were beasts back in the day but that day was a few good years ago now.

?
prove it.
my original statement is,
with a little OC in DX9-10 these will perform nearly as well as the 5850
nothing to do with stock speeds being close to a 5850.
but even then stock speeds are within 15% of 5850 @ 1200p and the 4890 overclocks very well (from stock 800 to 900-1000) also 2 of these would obliterate a 5850 for the same price. though i would argue that DX11 and lower power draw is worth it over 2 of these. as a budget gamer. this here is the most power you can get bar none.
also i have had both a 5850 and 4890 i know how they perform and well.
also almighty im blocking your posts from now so good bye!

I've owned three 4890's, five 5770's and two 5850's so I don't have to prove anything because I KNOW a 4890 its no were near a 5850.
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/175?vs=164
And 4890's are stocked clocked at 850Mhz, not 800mhz.
You should know that seeing as you've owned one
The point of this thread is that this is a brilliant deal for a great card, might not be dx11 and all singing and dancing but still an absolute steal for the money, so it would be nice if the thread could get back on topic.

4890's have landed. Get your wallets out :knock::knock::knock:
Yeah these are awesome for the price, as good as a GTX460 768mb and only 12% behind a 5850, so WITH an OC very close to that stock 5850 performance.
Check Tomscharts, only 7fps off a 5850 at 1920 x 1080 in BFBC2
Show me a better card for a budget gaming rig with £50 in your wallet!
Not even for budget Rigs, Nifty has a HD4890 in his Rig still and he's posh lol.

I would still like to know how you guys work out that with an overclock it's at 5850 performance?
4890's running Crysis Very High DX10 at 1920x1080 is touching just over 30fps, A 5850 is touching 40fps+ at the same settings.
And I would really like to know how 4890 = GTX 460 768Mb?
They're not even close.
4890 is around 6790 level, And a 6790 can't keep up with a 5850 or a GTX 460...
4890 vs 5850 (http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/175?vs=164) - The 4890 comes close in a few games but otherwise get's SMASHED. The 5850 is 22.7% faster in Crysis Warhead at 1920x1200 alone,
I used to have a 4890 and it was a good card back in it's day and the £50 that aria is asking for these is a complete bargain but seriously...
Stop giving misinformation about how fast it is compared to todays cards.
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/175?vs=156
It's not far off a 460 at all and at £50 it has to be the cheapest high performing card in the UK at all!
I'm hoping that these will be in stock at weekend so I can get one or two :D
When they run out, are they gone or good?
Almighty is clearly clueless and can't read.

Almighty is clearly clueless and can't read.
Almightys owned 4870's, 4890's, 5770's and 5850's and knows more about this then idiots who read charts and THINK they know. I don't think I'm right I KNOW I'm right from actual experience of running and owning all the cards in question.
For £50 they're a bargain and in Crossfire they're just above GTX 295 performance but a single card is no were near a 5850.
And a piddly 150Mhz overclock won't change that one little bit.

Yeah i think he's just upset that he had a good card and traded down and now this £50 card is just as good as the one he has.

I just get bored and change cards an awful lot
And this 460 would smash a 4890  If anyone has a 4890 and would like to bench then PM me ;)
When you've owned a 4890 and a 5850 and compared them both then maybe I'll start listening but until then I'll ignore your THEORY....
4890 CF > 5850 > GTX 460 > 4890
dam right bargain cards
as wayne has most likely had more cards than you spouting pointless statements all the time ill go with his theory and my own ofc :)
think ill just get rid your posts tbh.
Indeed i think the cheap price sent him loopy.
Added after 2 minutes:
Had a quick look on ebay and they go for £60 used on there and up.
£50 is crazzzzzzzzzzy cheap.

Not really, plus two of these is cheaper than one 460....

Not fussed what any of you think, i KNOW this is a great deal :)
If your on a budget and don't want to fork out £100 for the 5850 currently also on offer at a very good price then this should be your next best thing. Not really worth looking between the two unless you need DX11. Or nVidia of course :)
Despite my useless post, the point of this is, it's a good deal :)
Now all we need is Martin to join in and then we can have a repeat of the Almighty vs Martin forum battles like last month :D
Great deals though Aria :)

Does anyone think one of these with a phenom x4 9850 (125w tdp) would be fine on a cx430w or would it be pushing it a bit?
The main trouble is, while it should easily come in under the 430w limit, there's only 1 pci-e 6+2 power so it would need one of those horrible molex to 6 pin converters. :(

while i think it would be ok, you will need an adapter and you would be safer with a 500w+

Hmm, trouble is already have the 430w and getting a 500w along with the 4890 would be too much. Will have to have a think tonight...

Agreed, as long as you haven't overclocked your pc that psu will be fine, my pc uses around 390w underload, 5870 Soc and 1055t at 3.9ghz. Think 4890's have the same tdp as a 5870.

unlike the 4870, the 4890s idle low too, 30w iirc.

Awesome.
Bung one of these in your non gaming rig and you have 2 machines ready for BFBC2 when a mate comes round :)
would 2 of these be fine with a 600w gold rated PSU?
also are these better than 9600gt's???
may look to getting one if its possible to CF later :D

tbh once these are gone they are gone my friend. will likely be fine on a good 600w psu
these destroy 9600GT
another card which i have owned. ( a good performer, infact it is the minimum reference performance i would spec for a budget gamer)

Ill be getting a coolermaster 600w Silent Pro Modular 80+ Gold rated PSU from el wayneo. That should be fine right?

so which one of these is the better, obviously ech have subtle differences, which is the newer design, and which has the more efficient cooling system ?
Not even for budget Rigs, Nifty has a HD4890 in his Rig still and he's posh lol.
Haha. I'm not posh I just spend money I don't have on things I don't need :p
But yeah my current plan is to stick with my 4890 until BF3 and then upgrade :) Had to control my rampant PC spending somehow. We'll just ignore the MSIGX660R :ninja: Moving on...
This card plays everything I throw at it with my Q9550 3.6Ghz at 1920x1080. Granted I'm not pushing crazy FPS with the likes of Crysis Warhead or Metro but as a cheap grunty workhorse which will make games look smooth and pretty there is no way you will beat this for £50. That's just a fact.
I've had this baby for 2 years now which is fantastic for the £140 I paid. I'll be seeing her out at the end of this year but all in all one of my favourite cards. :thumb:
tempted for crossfire?
Only £50?

Incredibly tempting.
I'll have to wait and see what the real difference between BF3 in DX10 and DX11 is though. By then these will be gone, so I think I'll pass.
It's a great option for someone like my housemate who has a 4890 already, isn't too fussed about missing a bit of candy, and wants to keep up with performance, without worrying about cost.
I think 2 of these will play BF3 on high @ 1080p pretty well and tbh they go for more than £50 on ebay now so might as well get one and sell it on it October if your not happy, you wont lose any money on it and it might save you upgrading later.

Very tempting but I'd rather wait for my planned upgrade later in the year :p You see I plan to sell my Sapphire HD 4890 Vapor-X to my housemate for him to xfire with his existing 4890.
This one is the best by the way: HD-489X-ZHFC (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/ATI/ATI+4000+Series/XFX+ATI+Radeon+HD+4890+1024MB+GDDR5+PCI-Express+Graphics+Card+?productId=45263) - 900Mhz and the others are 850Mhz according to XFX Page (http://xfxforce.com/en-gb/products/graphiccards/hd%204000series/4890.aspx). Only 3 left!
The one with the fan in the middle is supposedly the best as it has a copper base and pipes.
Incredibly tempting.

I'm not sure what i would do, I would want to play BF3 in DX11 as there must be a noticeable difference between the two in the game, some effects could be DX11 only?
I think i would grab another one of these for now, when BF3 comes out sell both and get a DX11 card?
I would get this modal:
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/ATI/ATI+4000+Series/XFX+ATI+Radeon+HD+4890+1024MB+GDDR5+PCI-Express+Graphics+Card+?productId=45261
I had the same and the cooling was great, although my fan profiles were messed up which meant under load it would reach 85c, i put the fan on 50% and it was better and still not loud.
I wondered about the cooler. In fact the XFX site says 900MHz in the title of the ZHFC card but in the specs says 850MHz. So who knows! I asked on the page so we'll see.
The one with the nice fan looks like my Vapor-X, it's a nice cooling solution but obviously vents into your case.
EDIT: Right now I don't need another 4890, there's no game I'm playing right now which is unplayable at the quality settings I like. When BF3 hits then it's upgrade time.
Just buy one already Nifty
Get the one Zaim linked to.
Get one bought, a fantastic card for the money.
EDIT: Right now I don't need another 4890, there's no game I'm playing right now which is unplayable at the quality settings I like. When BF3 hits then it's upgrade time.

But I HAVE a 4890 which would be that card should my newer card fail. And don't try the "but what if you 4890 fails tomorrow" line, I have an 8800GTX as backup!
All you little devils trying to make nifty spend money, shame on you!
I have just shoved a 5850 in the cupboard lol, as I have 2 black edition ones now.

despite scaling differences etc the fact is having more than one graphics card in a set up just looks tooo cool
I'm a newb to graphics can someone explain why there three different models because they all have the same product name and I'm slightly confused.
emmitt it is pretty much down to the cooler. Go for the one with the big fan in the middle. ZSFC (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/ATI/ATI+4000+Series/XFX+ATI+Radeon+HD+4890+1024MB+GDDR5+PCI-Express+Graphics+Card+?productId=45261) Those usually give better cooling with less noise.
For those who were wondering about the ZHFC (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/ATI/ATI+4000+Series/XFX+ATI+Radeon+HD+4890+1024MB+GDDR5+PCI-Express+Graphics+Card+?productId=45263)model it is 850MHz just like the others.
Got you, is there really any point to have three XFX models of the same graphics card.
hopefully these will still be on sale next week.
Will have to pick one up while getting a keyboard and see if i have some spare monies for CF. :D
those benchmarks look the shizzzzz

Hmm, thought I posted a response to this.
Oh well, I was going to say that it's probably a good deal which Aria has secured on all three models and so snapped them up.
I'm kinda thinking about buying one but I'm not sure I can be bothered to try and offload two cards when October comes and I want DX11. I'll have a think :scratch

more down to stock prob.. they are EOL and this stock was prob released so limited stock of each of them which is why there are 3 models, to bump up the bumber of units.

Just more confused why XFX would have three versions of one card.
I'm ordering two today, either x-fire or one in mine and one downstairs.

Presumably they were at different price points depending on the cooler configuration but now they are just ditching stock.

Emmitt you'll found that one is based on ATI's reference design. A nd two others being custom cards with cheaper PCB and fan design
Did someone buy all those 4890's? They have vanished completely
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/ATI/ATI+4000+Series/
Guess I won't xfiring them, jolly good, decision made :p
When I left work yesterday one was really low in stock but the others were full bars.

Yeah I know. Bit odd, looks like Aria have removed them? :scratch
overwhelming response from the e-shot guys. never sold that many graphics cards in one day! but they are all gone. Trying to source more!
Crikey! And I was just coming round to the idea, oh well, you snooze you lose. Or actually win, because I don't need one. Right? I think...

Nice to see people grab an amazing bargain.
Hopefully my two arrive today, they are meant to, were loaded on the van this morning. Will post pictures if/when they are then when I get home.
Let me know what the thermals & accoustics are like please, if they come back in stock I might pursuade my friend to get a couple :thumb:

Amazing deal, but unlikely to come up again...end of line wasn't it?
Can't believe how lucky I was to be wanting to build a computer and to order the Card the day before they go out of stock. :P
we had hundreds and we are pretty shocked they have sold out to be honest. We bought everything we could at the time and are pushing hard to find some more. Yes they are end of life but we are trying for you
HUNDREDS?! OMG...
I'm not surprised really, There isn't any card in this price range which is even worth considering over this.
I'd say x2 of those for £100 was truly the BEST gfx deal i have ever seen in my entire life LOOOOOOL!

yeah i know, i was pricing a new box for a friend with the idea of having aria build it and ship it directly to him, then i went and wont hat gigabyte motherboard, for which i have no processor, so i was planning to use that, but as no on board graphics i was going to pick up one of these, but need to touch base with him and sort out the total budget i have to play with
I knew these wouldn't be available for long so I fixed my eyes on a 6870. Waiting on an rma.
Was a good deal though.

Same here :cry
Thanks for the deal though Aria!
I was a bit slow this time :(

Wow.
Had this 8800GT for 4 years now and it still beats the **** out of anything I've thrown at it (mostly JC2), but... jesus am I tempted!
Last card anywhere near this I bought in January, was a 4870 refurb (unfortunately died a few weeks afterwards), these must be beasts.
Provided more are in that is :D
I didn't realise how big they were, having trouble fitting them in the case so far.

There was a sizable thread (http://forums.aria.co.uk/showthread.php?t=45827) a while ago about it. Only 37 out of 110 votes said they liked xfx...
Never really used them for graphics myself so can't really comment, but quite surprised at the amount of xfx stuff aria is suddenly stocking again after such a low opinion of them.

He was unlucky i guess, I've had about 4 XFX graphics cards and only 1 failed (9800GT), my brother has a XFX 5870 and that's fine too.
My XFX 4890 been going over 2 years now.
xfx sell alot of cards i think it was more the RMA process that gave xfx a bad rep

I think xfx may be trying to keep themselves in the game, I believe there was question about if Aria would continue to stock them.
