I have strong hands which helps, but usually landscape with a thumb on the front and a finger or two on the back for support.

You can however buy some decent stands, I have a Twelve South Compass for mine when it is on a desk, it isn't perfect as it can be a bit unbalanced at times but the build quality makes up for that.

There are also a few lap stands about, try ilounge for reviews.

Ipads no good don't have Adobe Flash :chairfall:

Would love a Tablet but due to business software that i would likely be using a tablet for requiring Flash it totally and utterly rule out the Ipad :chuckle:

Holding off until Sammy bring out that 10.1-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) display hopefully in an Android Tablet fingers crossed.

It is because they think it is "cool" to hate on Apple. I expect 95% of the people who hate Apple have never used a non-iPod Apple product for more than a few minutes if at all.

Sure you won't see me buying a Mac over a PC, but the iPad and iPhone are excellent. Lack of flash really doesn't bother me with HTML5 getting used more and more, the biggest use of Flash is adverts anyways. :chairfall:

I despise Apple.

I had an iMac for 3 years.
An iPhone for 1 year.
A Mac Mini (Dreadful) for 1 month.

Compared to my HTC Desire the iPhone is a load of junk that is made to look better than it actually is.

I mean, the HTC Desire and iPhone 4 have VERY similar specs.

HTC Desire PAYG - £299
iPhone 4 16GB - £499

That's a lot more expensive for not a lot of difference.

Not to mention the Android OS is much more feature packed and customisable.

I don't know why people even shell out for the iPhone - even the dual core Galaxy S II and HTC Sensation are cheaper.

You make some good points about the iPhone, it is still too expensive. When I upgrade (if I upgrade) from my V3 Razr *lol* it will unlikely be an iPhne as I'm on a budget. Although their App Store is still better than the Android setup, which is the main area Apple have quite a lead over them.

no public jailbreak for iPad 2 yet, otherwise i'd have done it. pretty frustrated at the lack of date on the bar at the top, (especially when using it as a news reader) but apart from that, i don't actually feel the need to jailbreak. it's not a phone with tons of radios, and it won't need constant mute/unmute.

also did the tweak to enable 5-finger actions, makes sure there will be zero home button wear. my original iPhone's home button almost died. that takes care of my urge to jailbreak and put Activator on it.

I despise Apple.
......

Mac's are okay, sleek, it's personal preference. i prefer Windows for its gaming performance. funny how OSX fans always bang on about how good that is.

age old iOS vs Android is again personal preference. i find it funny that Android fanboys keep banging on about how customisable their phones are, good for you, but i don't want to customise my phone every other day thank you very much.

i spot something common here: smaller market share minorities always feel insecure and want to bang on about their stuff. :p

Well, the point was that apple were trying to get a law passed to make it illegal, as well as being against the EULA (which isn't law in any real sense, it just determines whether or not Apple will be prepared to offer you support/service). They didn't manage to get that through, so it's certainly legal, but there's been no change to their EULA.

We probably need a dedicated 'Apple love/hate thread, tbh :P'.

It is legal in both the USA and Europe as far as I'm aware, you just void the warranty if they find out.

I have a 32Gb version of this and have had it for over 6 months.
(And i'll state now, I'm not an Apple fanboi, its not jailbroke - I just got it at the right price!)

And quite frankly its gets a ton of use as a general web browsing tool at home.
Its quick and easy to use.
I've not fealt the lack of flash is a particular problem (will depend on your needs I guess!).
Battery life is good.

Its put an old laptop and my DS 'out of service' so I think its worth it!

App wise i installed one called 'freebies' that shows all the apps that are reduced to be free on a daily basis, as such I've not had to pay for a lot!

There may be better / other options but I find it hard to fault the ipads interface for the I have for it, I certainly dont feel I bought a lemon!

I dont need to prove it via links and break the rules. I dont even think PM'ing links is allowed as its still advertising other companies.

Just do a simple google search for the ipad model in question and type UK at the end. You will find all the websites that are selling it cheaper.

And PMing them to a single person still isnt proving the the rest of the users that its true... so If I pm'd you only you would know its true, which again would be pointless in reality.

You must have had a lot of practice with repetitive wrist action. ;)

Problem with laptop is that you cannot lay back and still have the screen at optimum viewing distance. I tried to do the same on my netbook, simply impossible, it forced me to hunch to view it.

The ones I have found are all brand new. The big A online store which is UK has them much cheaper including delivery.

Its not hard to find, I just searched ipad 64gb + 3G UK and found 4 sites that are reputable and sell it much cheaper.

Aria still beat a good number of sites when it comes to PC hardware, and their customer service is great thats why I shop here. But saying things are the cheapest in the UK when they clearly are not is pretty lame. Unless they can price match or beat the price.

Ipad/iphone not customisable? Yeah whatever, jailbreak it and do what you want with it.

Flash works on the IOS, just use Skyfire or install Frash.

Alternatively, buy an Android tablet for a similar price and have the official flash out the box.

Also, I had an iPhone 3G jailbroken.

The customisability of a jailbroken iOS device still can't compete in any shape or form to my Android.

This isn't just a fanboy comment either since I've actually tried both devices, I've had much more fun with Android.

I stuck Android on a HTC phone last year and although it was infinitely better than windows, I got bored of tweaking and changing stuff.

Although I've pimped my old 3GS and this new iphone 4, I normally just leave it as a stock IOS with the exceptions of system tweaks etc... To me, IOS is designed for cabbages lol, I'm one of them cabbages as I just CBA to mess around with them. I ring, I text and I play games.

I just don't get as much out of pimping my phone any more.

PS I LOVE Android and I love how it's exploding in popularity.
