I've been dealing with computers for some time but haven't built one on my own, although I've had training in building, stripping and rebuilding pc's. Anyway I'm looking to build something to replace my current machine I paid ~£700 for it roughly 3 years ago. I've been looking on aria for the past 1½ weeks and I've made a list of the things I think would work for me. I've already bought the processor and it's currently sitting in it's box under my desk.

Here's what I've got so far;

I still haven't decided on a graphics card, so that's why there's 2 in there. I'm pretty much open to all suggestions on what I can change, except on the cpu because as mentioned, I already have that. I also believe that the CM-690 comes with it's own power supply? Would that be suitable for the build I'm going for? Which is a a low cost gaming machine ;)

Thanks in advance for any help :)

If you are sticking with the P35 chipset go with the MSI p35 Neo2-FR.

But I would suggest you look at the P45 boards as they hold many advantages over the P35

I couldn't vouch for the "Power Supply: Standard ATX PS2/ EPS 12V". I would get a branded 600w psu OCZ for example.

Graphics cards, you may want to check out the performance difference between the 9800Gt and the ATI 4850. The 4850 is a better performance per £ value

Yeah defo the 4850 for that money I reckon.

Ok based on what wonderlust said about getting my hands on a P45 board, I've narrowed it down to these two (based on the lowest price so it doesn't drift too much from my original choice)

Which out of these do you think would be better suited?

Original choices are not bad :)

i have that case, motherboard and memory :thumbsup: am using a 8800gt graphics card.

As already suggested look at the 4850 graphics , the case doesnt come with a psu :( ocz,tagan or corsair will do a good job.

You may also be interested in getting a samsung f1 1tb, not much more expensive on superspecial and its a nice fast drive

Obviously the choice is yours

Worth a gander though

Of those 2 either would be a decent buy, the Gigabyte does have the advantage of being able to take ddr3 as well as ddr2 so might be the better buy where future upgrades are concerned.
