The naming system changed for the 6xxx series; the 6870 is the current equivalent to the 5770 I believe :)

from reading that it should basically be a 5770! so no idea why its clocked lower?

The 6770 is a 5770 rebrand.
Why the clocks are different, I don't know.

If that's correct then yeah, the lower clocks don't make sense :scratch

The MSI website says 800MHz too! (not that I'd ever consider for a moment that aria would make a mistake...!)

probably some way to make it cheaper if the clock isnt as high?
