i got a second hand pentium4 pc 512mb ram 40gb hard drive and cd r/rw and it beep 4 times ???????

any help

long beeps, short beeps or a mixture?

What bios? (if you don't know what board?)

short beeps (5beeps --5 beeps --etc)

Well if it's an ami Bios doesn't look good

i have a spare cpu hanging around will it work with that

depends which CPU and if the board has an Ami Bios (not sure it will have)

If you know what model it is, do a google search with the name and beep code and see what you get.

Has it ever worked? If not have you checked to see if it has a CPU installed? :D

it was the cpu wonderlust life saver it was for a friend of mines i had already told here id got it and then it didnt work

tried removing the mains lead and battery for a while? I don't know if that board will have a cmos reset?

it seem sthat my pentuim 4 cpu is not compatible i have taken out the battery and clickerd and swapped all the jumpers but nothing happens so it is back to the one it came with i thgink that it may be the mother board becauyse when i remove the everything but the cpu and the otherboard it tioll beeps????

ok now its realy strange i dont know what i have done but now on both cpus whenever i turn it on their are no beeps but no image comes on either ???????
