hi i have a athlon xp 2800+ which has a clock speed of 2.08GHz
i am looking at the athlon x2 3800+ which has a clock speed of 2.0GHz
is the x2 faster than the xp+ ??

also can anyone tell me the order of the processors - speed wise ??

like is it celeron then sempron then athlon xp then pentium 4 - so on ??

like slowest first to fastest - i think celeron is slowest aint it ??

by the way these are for desktop machines not laptops

thanks everyone :D

There is no definative \"this type of cpu is faster than this type of cpu\", for example the slowest sempron will probably be slower than the quickest celeron, and likewise the quickest xp processor might be quicker than the slowest A64, i don't know if they are but a mates overclocked xp3000 was benching with similar scores to my stock A64 3500. It doesn't work like that there are no set boundaries, you need to sit down and work out what you want too do and choose a cpu / pc based on that.

Sorry i can't be clearer.
