Anyone elese excited for this fight?

Personally I cant stand David Haye and think hes well over rated not to mention I hate big headed athletes.
I read Wlad wants to make it go at least 10 rounds to punish Haye for his trash talking.

Im not a betting man but im awfully tempted to bet against Haye!

Who do you think will win in July? Vote accordingly :)

Gotta go with a fellow Lion, Haye all the way. I have £20 on it, £10 6th round KO & £10 on Haye victory.

Im backing Haye as well, the Klitschko brothers are just so boring.
Plus Wlad has never fought someone with the speed & power of Haye.

Haye to win on points imo.

The Russian will take it and Haye will be suprisingly quiet.

People always say that Haye has never fought anyone good, I don't think that there is the strength in depth that there used to be so maybe neither have either of the Klitschko brothers. The last really good fighter in that division was Lennox & he beat Vitali......mind you he retired rather than do it again lol.

I think that Haye could do it, he has the speed & power to really upset a rather robotic fighter like WK. Then again it is said Haye has not got the best chin, when the big lads start pounding anything can happen.

Should be interesting, at least Haye isn't boring.......annoying but not boring.

Haye I reckon

i think hayes will either knock him out or break his hand on his face and lose on points.

I think Haye is just really worried about the fight so just acting stupid just too get some more media coverage and fame.

I want too back hayes but..he annoys too much so won't be betting either way.

yeah, Haye thinks hes awesome, and as much as it pains me to say this, hes good for British boxing, but with the cocky attitude hes showing, he deserves to have his chin beat on

and i think klitty boy will not go down without a fight

my prediction

Klit to knock Haye out in the 7th

Ima soldier  ;)

Hayes bark is bigger than his byte, yes hes good for british boxing but his attitude makes him look bad for boxing as a sport.
I recall him turning up to soccer AM late and saying something like "im late cause i couldnt be bothered waking up earlier"

I was actually surprised this one was set up, Haye has been running from them for ages now.

Time for Haye to show his true class and do his talking in the ring. WK has a suspect jaw so Haye needs to exploit that.

I'll be cheering him on, but win or lose I'll be very disappointed if he quits in October.

will be definitelly watching this one, on one hand i kinda want Haye to be taught a lesson but on the other it looks like it could be another acrobatics showdown

Klitschko isnt like Valuev, Wlad has faught people of similar size before where Valuev clearly hasnt and always had the height, reach and power advantage.
I suspect Haye will try and employ the same tactic he did with Valuev with the hit and run tactic but klitschko isnt as slow or brute-ish as Valuev and will try and adapt to his tactics.

I'm hoping for a KO but I suspect a TKO on the horizon

Mighty_Red
31-05-11, 12:19
Hayes a far better fighter than you credit him. I think a lot of the trash talk is just bravado and pure marketing, they are trying to inject a bit more spice to proceedings since the heavyweight division is dead boring at the moment. I do think he steps over the limit way too much, needs to show a little more respect to people.

Obviously he needs to back this talk up with a proper performance not just a good tactical battle (like with Valuev)

I give credit where its due, but Lenox Lewis he is not.

I dont think he has it in him to beat Wlad...

Neither of the klitschko brothers have had to face a top drawer fighter in a long time, in a way Haye hasn't either but this will be both their hardest fight in years.

TBF there isn't a heavyweight around that is fit to lace Lennox's boots. Vitali is currently the best in the division but that's mainly because there is noone to challenge him.

Haye, whilst being a pumped up cruiser, has the ability to at least bring some skill and excitement back to an awful division. I think he should beat Wlad but Vitali may be a step too far.

All three need these fights to happen to prove their standing in the game (of course the brothers will not fight).

Surely haye will win purely because it will be near impossible for Klitchko to get near him as he'll have to wade through all the S*** that comes out of hayes mouth.

Wont be watching as tbh, I cant stand Haye, I dont feel he is good for boxing.

October can't come soon enough for me, I hope he doesnt back-track on his decision.

I'm tempted to want Haye to win though so there will be another title fight when he retires, but even then I am failing to muster the enthusiasm.

I like Wlad but I'm torn on who I want to win. It would be nice to have a British boxer unify all those titles. But, in the interviews I've seen Haye seems to be very nervous whilst Wlad is as cool as ice. Haye comes off as trying too hard and I think Wlad has the psychological edge on him.

Still can't believe this hasn't been called off, will book it tonight at 11.30pm i think before the price rises.

Dont wanna book it too early incase someone has a bad toe or something lame that they always comeout with.

Haye FTW!

Haye is the most arrogant man in the world and although he is arguably very good this just detracts from his likeability. Klitschko comes across as a class act and he has the talent to back it. Obivously I would like to see an English champion but I would also like to see Haye put in his place

Clewis09
01-07-11, 16:36
Listening to a lot of the boxing experts on Talksport, many of them reckon David Haye will cheat to an extent to win, throw a few low blows to catch Klitschko off guard and put him off his game.

But David Haye does seem nervous tbf, if he boxes a smart fight he can definately win on points, but I doubt there will be any knockouts.

Looking forward to this, going to a BBQ first then they have this for the night. Just got a feeling Klitschko will win. I'm not that bothered either way, so long as it is a good fight.

I think Vladimir is too good technically to lose on points to a smaller guy like Haye, especially in Germany. I reckon someone is getting KO'd, whoever lands the big shot first will go in for the kill and take it.

Yup, the germans hate the Brits & the ref is a little on the lenient side (favors Vladimir) so I agree on the KO, only way Haye will win this fight as I see it.

good match tbf despite everyone moaning rematch in order!

i think haye is great stood the 12 rounds.

lucas4
02-07-11, 23:33
completely wrong tactics by haye IMO. needed to wear him down by going to the body much more in the beginning. head-hunting a guy like Klitschko just isn't effective in the early rounds. Haye's most effective punch in the beginning rounds was a jab to the head which is ridiculous for somebody giving up so much height and reach, lucky he didn't get tagged with a counter, even though klitschko isn't a counter-puncher.

in all honesty as well, it was a good tactical fight by klitschko. he kept him on the outside for the majority of the fight and when haye made his lunges to the inside, he just locked up with him and broke up the action.

id love to see a rematch, but haye would defo need new tactics

cant see haye retiring in october now

Happy camper tonight, thought Klitschko nailed the fight tactically and Haye was left to throw a lot of hopeful punches and not much more.

If he does get a rematch, he should consider himself lucky, not often someone gets beaten comfortably and gets the rematch. Although saying that, there's not much left for the Klitschko's to fight, so maybe he will. Would prefer to see Vitali have a go next time though, because he's much more reckless and much more powerful, would probably be a more enjoyable fight.

Garndell
03-07-11, 01:24
I think this fight just confirmed the Heavyweight divisions demise as the pinnacle of boxing. Neither fighter really went for it like Lewis & Tyson used to. Both the Klitschko brothers are probably afraid to fight each other, I have no qualms fighting my brother; in fact I used to as an amateur. Klitschko got it on tactics & Haye lost it on tactics & precision.

Still, congrats to Wladimir. Lets hope Haye's final fight is against Vitali & not in Germany.

I wasn't over impressed by it all but all I can say is what was up with the introductions?!?!?!

Lewis getting out of a london cab, Foreman reading a paper. I knew they missed a trick though, he could of cooked up some mean lean fat free chicken or something.

I thought is this WWF or Pro boxing!

El Wayneo
03-07-11, 04:56
I think Haye thought it would be a lot easier than it was.

Klitschko dominated the ring made it look like he was doing a lot of the work in the fight with his jab and won the rounds that were close to call.

His movement was excellent though, stepping back as Haye came forwards so Haye couldn't make any combos as he was off balance after lunging for the first shot.

He was deducted a point, rightly so but Haye made a fool of himself by repeatedly falling over afterwards and you could see how tired he was as he couldn't get anything on target.

A good 20 seconds over rounds 11 and 12 weren't enough to do anything as he took more punches then he gave when he got aggressive.

Klitschko showed how could he can be though.

Was much like Hayes last fight, in that he barely done anything and didn't deserve the win, using the toe excuse is a little bit lame though, just take your pay check and retire.

Both Klitschko's are open to fighting Haye again. I think they're a little upset it was a points decision & wanted to win by KO.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/14104555.stm

Vitali vs David would be worth watching since he's more of a brawler & will go for more than jab, jab, jab.

Does anyone else think that if Haye fought Vitali, he'd be going home with more than a broken toe? I could see it being a ruthless fight and definitely more entertaining than the one we saw in Germany. I don't see Haye going for it though, I think he's edging closer to retirement :(
