I've a 500Gb F1 and it's silent appart from the occaisonal noise of it thermally recalibrating.

mike is it vibrating thru the case? does it hum if its running on a desk or only in the case?

only i have a cheap 160 drive and when it was in another case it was loud but in my case or running out of the case you cant hear it.

It is plausable that the harmonics of the two drives together could be making the noise sound worse.

I see on tomshardware that there are a couple of new 1TB drives that now compete with the F1 on performance.
